A question regarding high school regional tournaments:

A wrestler certifies at 171 and never wrestles at any other weight class prior to regionals.

A. Can he enter the regional tournament at the 189 class and wrestle, and if so

B. How is he seeded with a 0-0 record in that weight class?

Thanks

A. Yes

B. The seeding is determined by the coaches involved in the Regional

A. I thought you had to have half of your weigh-ins at the weight class in which you enter for regionals

If you plan on wrestling at the lower certification weight, you must have half of your weigh-ins at the certification weight.

A wrestler may always move up in weight prior to the Regional.
