I'm kind of surprised that Abilene is in the lead...I know what they did last year, but hmmm...but then again, maybe they are counting on extra points from the back of the bracket.

NCKL wise I think Clay will be the best, but Abilene will do well...Concordia (my preseason pick on the year for NCKL and League), shouldn't be overlooked regardless.

Goodland needs to change to Greatland because they looked to be in the best conditioning of anyteam I've seen on the year, and the most agressive...I'd take every single guy and put them on a college roster if I could.

Aaron how could you bet against Abilene? Honestly I would pick Columbus or Goodland to win if Abilene does not. I wouldn't rule Clay or Con out either, but I think Clay is gonna maybe have 2 champs probably 1.

I think that Goodland has the horses and the determination this year. Goodland also has more qualified this year than Abilene, and I think that will make the difference. As we all know, I like numbers, and have said not to underestimated Scott City, but they are young and their coaching staff will have to really be crankin' on every kid if they want to squeeze this one out, there are so many good kids in every class that it will probably be pretty difficult for them. Colby will be in the mix as well, if they can repeat their gritty little stand from last week, but I think Goodland is the team to beat. Blayze and Dawson may determine the team title, but having more guys is what puts Goodland where they are.

Mike, I don't wanna be the "I told you so" person. But I did tell you that numbers don't mean Jack at the state tournament unless they are good wrestlers. As of now Goodland now has 3 wrestlers left, and are behind Abilene and most likely will stay there. I don't know how many times I have to tell people that the state tournament is not really about numbers. Its a quality over quantity type thing. It does no good to bring in 10 wrestlers if only 3 of them are gonna make it out of the first two rounds of the tournament. Anyway I had to gloat for just a second, I promise I won't dwell on it.

Scott City has 6 votes, when the finals began they only had 3......bandwagon effect, I guess.

I dont want to sound like I am rubbing it in but I agree with Mike Lippleman for coach of the year 4 A and numbers do count when you can place 7 kids...... great job Scott City Beavers
