Rosehill Regional Wrestler - Andrew Carrillo, Parsons. I know it's not "official" since it's not from Kit, but they announced it before we left. I don't believe they announced the coach award though.

I anticipated the coach of the year for Concordia's regional would have been Regan Erickson, but I would never had thought immediately of Strawn as that regions wrestler.

Strawn would be my choice as the Regional Wrestler. I think the Abilene coach would be right up there with Erickson.

Why would you not think off hand that STRAWN wouldn't be the outstanding wrestler of the Concordia reg. He is undfeated so far this year, 2 time runner-up, with three pins in the tournement, 1 t-fall, and a 28 second pin in the finals. Just wondered why?

Who did Strawn beat in the finals. Someone who has never been too state before? A OW award should go to a wrestler who beats quailty oppoents in the tournament. Grater and Taplin did beat other state placers.

OW means outstanding wrestler it does not mean beat a stud. No one in their right mind is going to say Strawn is not an outstanding wrestler.

I'm sure Oakley fans are relieved and elated. Most knew Peter would do a great job, but whenever a coach that has been around and successful for so long like Samuelson had, you have to be a little nervous. First year as head coach and in the hunt for title... way to go Pete!!

Chenoweth's record speaks for itself. I don't think he has lost a match outside of the state tournament in his soph, jr, or sr years.

ulysses #9 - if by sloppy you mean that he runs a takedown clinic on most of the people he faces. Are you confusing letting someone up with escapes? Chenoweth is an outstanding wrestler and a great person. This is his third OW this year, the one he earned at the Clearwater tournament was given by him,in front of his team, to his teammate Joey McDowell, for "busting his butt" for four years. I am sorry you were not impressed, I can tell you from experience that I one night, I tried to help him lose a few pounds to make weight, I shot 17 times, was in deep on most of them and found myself face planted. I am not a small person, 44 years old and 185 pounds. I know how to shoot (Wrestled for Columbus a century ago). At the time he weighed 145. I don't try that any more.

Well Ryan,
if you want to make comparisons Ross had three falls into the finals and an 11-3 decisions over a wrestler who only had 2 losses on the year in the finals. But im not arguing for Ross I think if the coaches voted for Jesse than he deserves the award.
