I wasn't that impressed with Chenoweth. I don't think he's seen near the competition that Jon Cook has seen this year. Plus Cook is only a sophomore, it's going to be scary how good he might be as a senior. He also lost to Ross Taplin 16-7 at Basehor. Few people even get that close with Taplin, so I'd say Cook is doing just fine.

How many of those takedowns did Cook get when both wrestlers were still standing, and seconds afterwards Chenoweth got a reversal. Only one of Cook's takedowns did he actually have control. There was also a call made when Chenoweth hit a granby roll and was no where near control when he let Cook up. Chenoweth got two for reversal and Cook got one for escape. From my impression of the match I thought the refs kept Cook in the match. This wasn't the only match I thought was poorly officiated. I thought that overall the entire tournament had several bad calls.

Chenoweth is the man. Not to many redheads are good (exception to Matt G. of Hoxie, hey that rhymed). He kicked my a** at state last year but I suck so that's not saying much. Anyways, back to the point. There were other very good wrestlers at the tournament (excluding all from 152 because we suck). I would have to say that 140 looked very good with a possible rematch of the two in the state finals. 103 had some pretty stinkin' tough guys as well. The award is titled "Outstanding wrestler" and it defineatly went to one outstanding wrestler! Keep up the good work Curtis.

I agree with the officiating assessment, but I don't believe they kept Cook in that match. There were some questionable calls both ways. Cook was completely out of the circle at one point and Chenoweth just kind of jumped on him and Mitch Schlepp holds his fingers up for a takedown. One of the reversals that Chenoweth got probably wasn't one.

Good match though. Can't take away from that. Chenoweth is good.

One more thing with the officiating. What's with Rob Ross officiating a 4A regional in his hometown? That just seems wrong to me. He likely should have been at the 321A regional in Trego.

Ross made the announcement that he was instructed by the state not to officiate Colby kids. But I did notice he was the assistant referee in some Colby matches. Overall, I didn't think the officiating was that bad. We have definitely seen a lot worse.

I agree. Man what was he thinking tying up with him. He's gonna regret that one for a while. He fought hard to get off his back though.

I dont know who Strawn wrestled in the finals, but he did give Cisper his only loss of the year. Being undefeated and state champ dont hurt either.

I think Baldridge or Cornejo of Campus could be top candidates for OW!
