I am honored to say that Jeff Doering of Minneapolis has been my most favorite wrestler to watch. He has just blown everyone away who has tried to stop him. With 38 takedowns an underfeated record and totally dominating many people such as Tommy Knapp( a very over-rated wrestler) and if you remember back to last year beating Tanner Long from Hill City. Jeff has proved himself and will now have a shot at taking Tapplin next week at the Beloit 2 Day and ther is a good chance that he will take him. All 60 pounders are musclular studs. jeff is a very strong but has killer speed and that is what is winning him his matches. Plus he has killer stamina

Well he will have a "shot" at Ross, probably not a "shot at taking" him.

I've watched Doering wrestles on several occasions. I don't think he's in Taplin's class, but is a very solid wrestler. Last year at the Beloit tournament he beat Mellies who place second at the state tournament. Also he did beat Knapp I believe by 4 points, but did not "dominate" him. Wait until after this years Beloit tournament to talk him up. If he does well then you will have some ammunition.

Did Doering qualify for state out of the Norton regional? If memory serves me correctly (and it does fail off and on) no one from Minneapolis qualifed for state. Right of wrong?

Doering did lose to me, Jordon Haussermann, in the consolation semis at the Norton Regionals last year. It was a tough match and he was a very tough opponent. If he is tougher than last year, I would hate to wrestle him again then.

Yeh, I remember now. It was a good match between two very good wrestlers. It is too bad that wrestlers of such quality have to meet on the back side like that. Just goes to show how deep the Wild Wild West Regional was last year.

Would be interesting to know how many 3rd and 4th place qualifiers medal at state in any given year. My guess is that the majority in 321A & 4A who do come from the Westernmost regionals.

Tanner Long was a very good wrestling when he wanted to be. He's kinda like Jake Plummer, either has an A game or a F game. He's now joining the Navy SEAL'S though, he's hugh now.

I agree with that, Tanner and I always had our battles when we wrestled. Too bad he kinda wasted his talent, it would have been interesting to see what would of happened if he would have actually showed up for Regionals.

Doering is good, don't get wrong, but underated? he's ranked what like #3/4 in the state right now? i find that hard to underated, also i have a sneaking suspicion that you're from minneapolis, although i do like ybsmall, he's supported a few comments i've made...i like backup
