So what are everyone's predictions for the Sunflower League tournament? Any good finals match-ups?
103-Andy Carlson (OLE) 112-Adam Almaguer (OLS) 119-? 125-Chino Elsrode (OLS) 130-Shawn Dedrick (OLS), but if Aaron Bartles (OLE) is back at this weight then I think he'll win it. 135-Kenny Aubrey (SMS) 140-Chaz Hill (SMNW) 145-Nick Clayton (SMS) or David Tindle (SMW) It's always close with these two. 152-Sean Curran (LEV) 160-Ryan Sonderegger (SME) 171-Heath Groom (SMW), Bauer (OLE) beat him earlier but Groom is looking better and better as the season goes on. 189-? 215-Mark Robinson (SME) 275-Raymond Carrera (SMN)
Any comments or suggestions?

You must be kiding about Groom beating Bauer. Bartels is 135. And Mark Robinson is a punk, why would anyone pick that kid?

103is probably Ely from Leavenworth but Hussein could win 130 Lawrence also from there Halipan 140 , and Both Kellermans (nolan 145, and Clayton 215) all have good shots at it ...

Top 4-5 kids at each weight: no particular order A lot of these kids have wrestled some close matches and things could be very interesting sat.
and groom did look pretty darn good last week against cisper. that would be a good final.

I doubt Stewart is going to win his first tournament back.
So this kid is putting on his shoes right, and his mom says, honey you're putting your shoes on the wrong feet, and the little kid says, no mom these are my feet

Yeah, you're right about Ely of Leavenworth, he looked good last week. Bartels could beat Aubrey though, but all that time off is going to hurt him. Didn't he have a pretty big lead going into the third period of the JCC finals againt him? Either way, I'm glad to see him back. Groom kept it really close against Cisper, almost catching him near the end of the match to tie or win it. But Bauer's already beaten him this year so I guess we'll have to see. And you're right about the Kellermans, but Clayton just started wrestling this week. Some kids said he just didn't want to wrestle this year. His debut came this weekend at JV League so I guess you can already say he's already won the Sunflower League. And vikes, what school is Sweeney as 215 from?

sweeney is at olathe south.
i'm running the tournament, so i wont be able to watch all the matches, and line-ups are due in by tuesday. I'm loking forward to seeing who is where and who is healthy.
145 is going to be a war. 5 kids who all can beat each other any given day. and 4 of them will meet again next week
remember, what was done in the past doesn't mean anything. these next 3 weeks are all out. i've seen it too many times. people are supposed to beat so and so and so and so pinned so and so. blah blah.
heck, swander had lost to redcorn 5-6 straight times and swander stuck him last week.
anything can happen

Yeah, 145 is going to be awesome. Cline was very impressive last week, but even moreso was Keane who I hadn't seen all year. Kellerman is a stud who looked good in losing to Clayton earlier this year and Tindle has had a knack for beating good kids all year long. I can't wait for it.
Would you be willing to post the line-ups when you get them so that we can see where everyone's going for the tournament?

it will take enough time to get all the data into the computer. ask your coach for the brackets after thursday's seeding meeting.

My predictions, in order of top placers starting from the left: 103- Carlson(OE), Ely(LV), Steele(SMN) Coons(LHS) 112- Almaguer(OS), Ramirez(ON), Gentry(SMW), Cates(LHS) 119- Lucynski(LV), Patton(OS), Fisher(ONW) Gilliland(SMNW) 125- Elsrode(OS), Redcorn(SMNW), Connell(LV), Martins(SME), Swander(SMW) 130- Hussein(LHS), Matt Somers(LFS), Dedrick(OS), Markey(ON) 135- Aubrey(SMS), Bartels(OE), Hansett(SME) 140- Chaz Hill(SMNW), Halpin(LHS), White(SMN), Mitchell(OE) 145- Clayton(SMS), Tindle(SMW), Kellerman(LHS), Cline(SMN), Keane(LV) 152- Curran(LV), Schieber(OE),Tracz(SMN) Blake Humpherys(SMS) 160- Sondereggor(SME), Fitzgerald(OS), Hager(SMN), Monegro(LV) 171- Groom(SMW), Bauer(OE), Wolkey(SMN) 189- ??? 215- Robinson(SME), Stewart(SMN) Bustamante(LFS), Kellerman(LHS) 275- Carerra(SMN), Smith(OS),Jamie Snyder(OE), Barnard(SMS)
- Toughest Weight: By far it has to be 145lbs. All are or were ranked in state and have the ability to beat each other on any given day. - Weakest Weight: Probably 119lbs or 189lbs. 119 appears to be down compared to last yr which had the top 3 in the Sunflower League @ 119 all place at state. Never heard of any of the 189lbers posted. - Sweet Matchups: Elsrode v. Redcorn, Hussein v. Somers, Combo of any of the 145lbers mentioned above, Aubrey v. Bartels, Sondy v. Fitz, and Robinson v. Stewart. -Upset a-Brew'n?: Can 03' state medalist, Ryan Stewart, beat a very solid Mark Robinson at League?

agree with most and i see some that will be close.
don't forget swander has pinned martens twice and is 3-1 against him with one loss coming when he was sick at JCC. Also, he just stuck redcorn last week in a dual.
Also, Hansen at HWT is pretty solid and throw in Keck at 152 if you have humphrey in there.
Keane is pretty solid as well. could even win it.
just some insight. shold be competitive sat.

You're right, I forgot about Hardy from LFS. He should walk through 189 if he's wrestling.

You mean me and Curran won't be a sweet matchup?
And I still don't think Bauer is getting the credit he deserves. He has wrestled Davis(RH, 2nd in 4a) and Cisper(STA, 1st in 6a) into overtime, not to mention beating Groom twice(i think) this year. I know Heath is wrestling well, but so is Taylor. And Aaron Puglisi beat Gentry earlier this year at 112. And you got to remember the Turbo at 189.

Fine Shieber, you and Curran WILL be a pretty sweet match-up. He lost a pretty awesome match in double overtime a week ago to Metcalf, which was also pretty awesome to watch.
And no one is taking credit away from Bauer. He's pretty **** good, it's just I'm picking the upset of Groom over Bauer. Bauer's obviously been better this year though, if that helps.
And of course Turbo is going to bring the pain all over the place. When doesn't he?

Schieb Dweeb- AAh yes, i did forget a Schieber v. Curran matchup. That should be quite delicious indeed.
Also wasnt Brock Gentry sick when Puglisi beat him at the classic? Im going on my gut instinct on this one and picking the defending Sunflower League champ over ur man. I think Puglisi beat Cates(LHS) though. So i recant and put Puglisi in 4th.

I don't know about the Gentry/Pugs match at the classic? I'm just trying to get some love for my team.

You should have seen Jinxy turbocharge Sweeney from South all over the mat the other night. He clinched the dual for us wrestling up and he might still have some momentum this weekend.
