I have been hearing ALOT about this Russell team, and from the bits and pieces that I have seen and heard, they are pretty well off.
They have a really good 119# wrestler - David William, and they also have a good 140#(Dalton Kraft), 171#(Bobby Homeier), and 189#(Eric CLine).
Especially Bobby Homeier, he will probably take state. Guys at 171# in their league watch out!

you know what i may not be from russell, but i have been hearing a lot of good things about this year. they have worked their butts off this year in practices and guess what... look at their record right now.. i thing it is um either 4-0 or 5-0 but ya they have really inproved this year and i thin they are gunna kick some butt in state so i'd watch out what ur sayin cuz ya they're gunna bring it big time. so shut up about how ur the best cuz ya know what we really don't care.

their record dont mean a thing when it comes to state.. theres a big diff between a good dual team and a good tourney team.. and second you say their 119 is really good hes good but you are definately overrating him.

I agree that Russell is not a strong toury team but they are up in coming and are very strong at duals. watch for a good showing from Seth Underwood @103# So.(poss. state Qual.), Kale Wann @112# FR., David William @119# Jr. (2X state qual,I look for him to place this year.), Ryan Driscoll @135# So. (should qual. for state.), Dalton Kraft @140# So. (Very strong, needs a little more mat time.) Cody Lang @145# So. (Should also qual. for state.)Bobby Homeier @171#Sr. (Should place top 2 but shouls be #1) and Eric Cline @189# SR. ( another state qual.) Russell is a very young team with younger wrestling coming up thur. the ranks look for them to keep getting beter.

Russell may possibly qualify the people you just mentioned but send them to the Norton regional and I would be surprised if two of those kids qualify. Going to Hoisington increases the chances of qualifying for state tremendously. I know this has been talked about before on other 'topics' but it still is unfair for the people going to Norton. Is there anything that can be done? Probably not. But I don't want to hear peolple bragging about qualifying for state out of the Hoisington regional.

How did Russell's 171 # do last year. Can he beat guys like Ross (SF), Keck (OB), or Shipley (HX)???

We'll just have to wait and see how they do at Norton, in a very good tournament.

Russell is god awful. Too bad we won't get to see an Alex Ryan/ Clay Madden rematch. Cuz he always seemed to think he could beat Clay, even though Clay embarassed him to the point where it wasn't even funny, it was just sad.....

Your rite they will qualify a good number of kids which is sad Kraft will qualify at 140 but in Norton he wouldnt. along with a lot of there other wrestlers where Homier is in the top two he might be a 3 or 4 seed in norton. This may be the year they place in the top 10 but in a normal year this wouldnt happen

Yes lucky charmz, I too remember Alex Ryan's little deal with Clay Madden from Norton. What made it even more funny was the fact he talked even after Madden dominated him at his regionals.
