Go to Kansas City Star - Sports - High School Winter Sports

Certainly, this would not be the first error in the Star.

Please go to review the Star provided regarding two Kansas City area wrestling teams posted yesterday on this forum!

there may be some confusion because after most people left they had already announced Royal Valley as the champion , but campus was livid about not getting advancement points for the pools that didn't have a bracket. I am guessing that they ended up awarding those points which not only gave campus the title, but shifted the place results a little.

Spicy. Sounds like there is some debate.

Let's hear the details. If you want to start throwing chairs, that's completely encouraged.

I was there and seen Royal Valley get awarded the first place trophy.
I think that maybe campus got a little upset about getting beat by a 4a team while the were ranked #2 in 5a.
But i do know Royal Valley did win.

i was there after everyone left and the campus coaches were discussing the advancement points with the NW staff. I really believe that they ended up changing it. i am going to check on it with the coach. Campus didn't get advancement points into the bracket from elliott, or baldridge. royal valley was very impressive against a stacked campus team

all the talking came after the trophies were presented, brackets were handed out and almost everyone left, so most thought royal valley had won, but the KC Star report came from SMNW and it had the changes
