Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Tournaments looking for teams

The following tournaments are looking for an additional team for their event:

• Washburn Rural Dual Tournament on Sat. Jan. 21. It's a format set up for 10 teams. There are two pools of five teams apiece. Each team is guaranteed 4 duals in the pool competition, and then each team will be paired up for the medal rounds with a team from the other pool, thus getting a 5th dual. Teams that will be there are Baldwin, Blue Valley North, Grandview, Wamego, Olathe East, Wichita Kapaun, Washburn Rural, Valley Center, and Leavenworth.

• Maize High School Tournament is looking for another team to fill its tournament January 7th, the 1st weekend after Christmas.
  
  The format is set up for each wrestler to get 5 matches in one day. Tournament usually finishes before 5:00. This is not a Dual Tournament.

Russell Tournament on Jan. 14th needs a team to fill a six team round robin. If bracket is full, a wrestler will get 5 matches in a day. Teams are Plainville, Trego, Onaga, Manhatten jv and Russell. Any schools going to be looking for open dates soon with tournaments being cancelled this past weekend? If so the schools looking to get into a tournament and those looking for additional teams need to post.

FHSU New Years Clash will still take teams and individuals. If interested contact bphillips@holtonks.net call 785-364-6086 It has been changed to a one day tournament December 30.

Does anyone know if it's possible for a high
school with only two varsity wrestlers to
attend some of these tournaments?

The best thing to do is contact these schools. I know quite a few tournaments that have been accomodating in years past, I know Herington let in a Hutch Trinity guy into their tournament one year.
