by disaster he means haveing a home made bomb blow up in school....haha no joke

dont worry no one was hurt...
it was toliet bowl cleaner and aluminium foil in a gaterade bottle...now that somethin chuck norris would think of

Yes, the Internet has lots of info regarding the mixing of such common household items. For example, see: http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/chem00/chem00067.htm

Note that neither of these websites are condoning "bomb building" (although there are those out there too).

One is merely listing typical experiments one would expect to see in a chemistry class. The other is an answer to a 14 year old's question about what happens when these two materials are "mixed".

Note that it explicitly mentions that proper supervision and precautions be taken, if one performs this particular experiment. Obviously, that was missing in this case. Fortunately, no one was injured, but someone is learning a lesson the hard way.
