Little superstitions...same warm up gear...a change of shoes

Listening to music...rock and roll or just the blues

Thinking of a "Grandby" in your mind or just a "switch"

Thread the needle..suck it tight..make that kids crotch itch

Check his oil....give it gas...don't over rotate that throw

Squeeze it tight...look to the lights...the count is on you know

Coach is throwing his arms and yelling...high voice heard all around

Head gear on so tight it blocks out all but that sound

Don't lock up...shoot for gold...grab a knee and elevate

Don't look at the time because by then it'll be too late

Crowd is on their feet and screaming "squeeze" with all their might

No one thought that this would be your show or just your nite

Time is out..you've done your best...and still you lost by 2

Just know that I could not be more proud than I am right now of you

What you've done and all you'll be because you've had this time

Makes you the man you'll be one day inside this child of mine

If you win or lose..no matter what the score

Because you are my child..I could not love you more

Well Richard..it rhymed. Wrestlers are constantly picking at themselves or re-adjusting as if they have an "itch". It was a play on words to reflect that..nothing more..nothing less, sir.

I do not believe I am familiar with this wrestling move.
I believe it's closely related to jock's itch.

you could've done a near rhyme and said something like a "crotch lift" ... poetry doesn't have to be an exact rhyme - you can cheat a little.

But would 'crotch lift' have gotten the attention that itch seems to have incurred? It's a simple poem..just thought I would share. And I don't wish the itch on anyone.
