Still you would think he'd be in a roster or announced and had the audience know he wasn't there.

And how do you know the name was not printed ON the roster?

One of the primary jobs of the announcer is to announce the names of the contestants participating in the match, not an athlete who is not competing.

I believe the quote was:

Again, the job of the public address announcer is to introduce the contestants participating in the match, not any non participants.

Scott missed a practice for on Wednesday. Augusta's scheduled competition points put him over what KSHSAA allows for a season so he would have to sit out a dual sometime during the season to come within the regulation. Since he missed practice on Wednesday he just went ahead and sit out this dual. He was there cheering for his team and helping roll up mats when it was all over. The roster passed out only had the kids who were actually wrestling that night so Scott wasn't listed. Believe me, by the time this season is over 4A will have seen plenty of Scott.

It seems funny but we've apparently had a few others, "jump to conclusions" or is it "taking the bait?"

Why do you think I am never in a rush to get the rankings posted before anyone has wrestled?

Geez Richard, way to ruin the topic. I think people were looking for answers as to why he wasn't there, not the job description for an announcer. I feel sorry for Mrs. Salyer.

To end all rumors Scott went deer hunting with his grandfather Wed. This caused him to miss school and practice. Missing school the day before a match disqualifies a wrestler from parcipating for Augusta. As far as I can tell Scott has no physical problems nor does he need to sit out any matches because of overscheduled competition points.
To keep any other rumors from starting He did shoot his 1st deer a 9 pt. buck.

Or maybe what Richard was trying to say was, it's nobodies business other than Scott's and his coaches.

Hey Mike, tell Scott that if he needs any extra freezer space for that buck to let me know. Wouldn't want him gaining any extra weight now.

It matters not to me what answers people were looking for! The simple fact of the matter is the reason(s) an athlete may or may not participate are NO ones business other than the athlete, their family, the coaches, and school administration. There are instances where the matter is NOT the business of teammates.

Another problem with your friends statement was lack of coherent reasoning.

Have you ever been "in a roster"?

I've been in a pickle, a State of Confusion, between a rock and a hard place, up a creek without a paddle but I can honestly say ... I've never been "in a roster."

Come to think of it, I've been in a state of flux and in a quandry. I've been in both a tither and a lather. As a youngster I was put in a round room and told to sit in the corner and more than once, cried before I got my whoopin. There's been a time or two that I didn't remember getting home and waking up wondering where I was. But I still don't recall being "in a roster!"

Beats the heck out of being in a rooster. I hope Scott is careful about who he sells the horns and skin to.
