What do you mean Irvine didn't win? He pinned his kid. In fact, he had the pin several times before the ref called it.

I actually thought the ref did a great job, I believe he's an old SES or Salina Central wrestler that was reffing tonight and he did a great job. Chapman needs to take some pride and do a better job at regionals. I think it's funny we are hosting a jv tournament and have basically nobody to wrestle in it as well....maybe that's the first punishment for having a bad night.

About 5 Chapman wrestlers actually looked good on the night...obviously the 3 winners, then Jess and Cody....I think Noel looked good early against Tischauser, lasted way longer than I thought he would! Shorter needs to step it up as the only senior...something tells me he gets a very tough draw in the first round of regionals.

I have no problems with the ref. I thought he did an excellent job as well. I really liked how consistent he was. I was just saying that Will had the pin earlier but the kid kept jerking. Thanks for the compliments to Jess. He was very upset with himself because he thought he should have done better. Noel is one of those guys that is always going to be stronger the second time you wrestle him. Shorter is really sick. Earlier in the season, he thought he broke a few ribs but didn't want to go to the doctor so he could continue to wrestle. Now, he has a very bad case of bronchitis (sp) and with his asthma, he is having a terrible time. He is suppose to go back to the doctor today to see if they can increase his antibiotics and to get him some more "air" through his lungs.

I didn't know Shorter was going through all of that, but I knew his color looked bad and he's way better than how he wrestled.
