And how about Jared Siemer from Rose Hill as well for 215. He defeated Atticus Disney earlier in the year.

Baker-Hoxie

Roe is the best wrestler I have ever seen on his feet, if he were to ever get in a situation where he needed to score on top or bottom, I would have my doubts, although he by far is one of the best in the state

wrestler06--Roe can wrestle on the mat when he has to--he just doesn't have to very often. In his semi-final match at Newton he RODE Cotton to win in double over-time.

How can you say Hynick or Seimer? They are not even undefeated. Both really good wrestlers but maybe not in the same league as pound for pound best. Has Hase and Cox from Andale wrestled yet?

Are you kidding me? Garcia beat the tar out of him at Newton. Something like 9-2. Kicked his butt so bad that Hentzen had to resort to a cheap shot which ended up intensifying the butt-kicking he was already receiving. I guess he may dominate his classification, but he is certainly not the best pound-for-pound in the state.

theman... i'd have to say that strawn is better than erisman. They have wrestled common oppents before, like Zahm, strawn t-falled Zahm and Erisman lost to him.

Kyle Buehler of Lansing. His only loss this year is to a kid from Oak Park. He's undefeated against guys from Kansas at 135.

Livengood from BVN is pound for pound the best-the other wrestlers mentioned are great guys but when you look at overall size/strenghth and the pound for pound 'requirement' Livengood tops them all-
Shumate should also be in that list

The most impressive looking wrestler I have seen this year (and since Jeff Boyle) is Sutton-Kern from Concordia. He LOOKS like he could be dominating at 189, 215 or 275.

I haven't seen many eastern KS kids but out west it has to be Roe. He is the best on his feet I have seen in years.

I've been thinking about this "pound for pound" topic. A pound for pound analysis basicaly means who is the best wrestler regardless of the weight. But what is the criteria for picking this wrestler? Let me suggest this: If Kansas High School wrestlers were to have a dual with the rest of the high schools in the United States -- all of them vs. us -- and you could only pick one person to be on the Ks team -- the rest of the team would be filled by a random draw. So if you didn't pick your person it isn't a guarantee that he would be on the team. Then who would your pick be? I would suggest that the person you would pick is your opinion of the best "pound for pound" wrestler in Kansas. For me I would have to decide between Strawn, Eriesman and Tristen.

I would have to go with Tristen. That is about as close to a sure thing from Kansas as you can get.

Shumate looks really good this year. In my opinion he is as good as anyone and should not be behind Perez. Larry is a good wrestler and has beaten Nick in the past but I think Nick has improved more than Larry and is now the better wrestler, just an opinion and no offense to Larry, he's very good, but I think Nick is better.
