There are a number of rankings services, it is possible that he could be ranked on one of the other services.

Furthermore, Kastor beat the kid--handily--
who beat Detmer, so some people have their 911
a little skewed. But nobody's taking anything away from Detmer. He's just a youngster,
though, with a lot of wrestling ahead of him. The veterans know a lot that the rookies don't know yet. That's just the nature of experience; look at the history at Carroll of wrestlers who
didn't look all that great at first, but ended up
in the state finals by their junior and senior years.

Wow Kastor beat the kid who beat Detmer, when where, and who. No where can you find results like that. At least not this year or last. Unless you know where the results are published for viewing. I am sure we would all like to see that.

If those rankings from
Wrestlingusa are so great, how come
Deshazer is only ranked 18th? That's crap.
Last summer they had Shumate ranked
above Seth Metzler--that was crap, too,
and Kastor wasn't ranked at all because he didn't
go to any national tournaments because
he got sick. But he beat Shumate in
Derby two years ago when Shumate did
have a high national ranking.

So--take these rankings with a large
grain of salt, and believe your own eyes.

Well lets see Deshazer did not place at nationals, neither did Metzler. Where did Kastor wrestle last year? I dont remember seeing him anywhere. Now for the big one, Detmer is not the same wrestler as in the past, he is a very much improved wrestler. My son lost to him 2 years ago at state in a very close match, I dont see that being the case this year if they meet up. I believe that Detmer would probably beat him pretty good. As for Kastor noone has heard of him on the mat I think for two years now. I do agree that Tristen should be ranked higher.
Always remember 1 thing, any wrestler can be beat at any given time.

Im not sure if detmer can beat triston but he does have one big advantage, the two guys in the wieghts above him for carroll are amoung the best in the state. Anyone who has wrestled can tell ya that having that type of competition in practice everyday is a big help.

enough with the talk about kastor vs detmer. it hasnt happened yet, not to mention this is wrestling, what one guy does to another doesnt mean anything. in two days at derby they will be in the same bracket. so we will find out who is really better...

Is Bishop Lynch at going to Derby or Newton?

this year.

Afraid not. They would have scored even without the lateral and they got burned on an earlier call not being given credit for an obvious completion. It all worked out in the wash and Texas dug down and beat USC and won the National Title. That is it.

I am sorry, I did not mean to sound like a know it all. I just hate USC and root for the Big 12 teams. Also, I was just telling it like I saw it.

Naturally, there was always the possibility
that Texas would have won even without
a couple of questionable calls or no-calls--
but I am biased because I have two degrees from USC : )--but back to wrestling, did those wrestlers injured in football get back into action for the most part?

And yes, back to wrestling. Detmer once again proved his worth winning the Derby. Another wow performance.
