Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School 152 4a State....just figured out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys was curious and glad I figured it out...based off the latest rankings 5 of the 6 ranked guys were at 152 (Stultz is now at 160), but get this, bottom half of the bracket will feature Schroeder, Elliot, Allen, and Hall 1-4 ranked guys in state...to make it more interesting Elliot gets the winner of Allen and Hall and then the winner of that has a great chance at facing Schroeder!!!!! YIKES!

I agree. The top half of the bracket is relatively weak. This will be the outcome though.

2.Joey Hambleton
3.Judd Schroeder
4.Kyle Allen
5.Josiah Mason
6.Brett Schields

Horrible bracket setup though, it should have turned out like this:

2.Judd Schroeder
3.Kyle Allen
4.Joey Hambleton
5.Josiah Mason
6.Dakota Hall

This is the sad part of the state tournament when brackets are drawn so poorly. In many of these cases the brackets would seed themselves almost, based on head-head and common opponents. I just think in this day and age, there has to be a better way.

If Kyle Allen wouldn't have lost by default he had a good chance to make the finals.

Um where do you have Jones at? If he makes the semis like you show, then loses, he'd make the the backside consos and at least place.

just change Brett Schields with Troy Jones on the bottom of the bracket

I do wish myself that the state tournament could be seeded much like a regular tournament is. Unfortunatly as you can imagine the seeding meeting would be 10 hours filled with arguing and shouting because of coaches trying to get their wrestlers in the best position to make the finals. As you can imagine KSHSAA is not going to change the way that brackets are paired up at state, anytime in our lifetime. So the discussion is almost without purpose.

which time? You have Schields losing to Jones on top or vice versa?

just change jones with schields at the bottom with troy, because schields should lose to allen already

How do they do seeding at NCAA's. Maybe have a couple people from KSHSAA complete the seeding?

i think the semis should go schields vs. hambleton and elliot vs. judd schroeder

and the finals are elliot vs. schields

and elliot wins big

and schroeder wins big over hambleton for 3rd and 4th

IF THERE WAS A WRESTLE BACK THEY WOULDN'T NEED TO BE SEEDED.
