#1 ranked 149lber Matt Pyle of Luther College, and former Sabetha wrestling stand-out, is going for his second NCAA Div. III title. He is in the semi-finals against #5 ranked Jacob Larsen of UW Lacrosse. This could be the second year in a row that little brother Jason wins a State title and big brother Matt wins a national title.
This could possibly be the second year that big bro made it to State to watch Jason and he in turn went to nationals to watch Matt.
They Pyle boys are two special young men and they have a very supportive and humble family. It is nice to see that in sports today!

Sadly Matt Pyle lost 3-2 in the Semi-finals to Jacob Larsen (UW Lacrosse)

Matt Pyle lost in the Consolation Semi-finals 7-6 to Jared Evans of Augsburg and will be wrestling for sixth place.

Well I should ave been paying more attention to the brackets today, I was doing some chores and missed most of the day. It is too bad that Matt lost but with the family all there to support him, he will bounce back I am sure.
I am excited to take the kids to camp at Luther this year, Matt will be the team leader and will have to run extra if they fail, they will try extremely hard not to fail!

Matt Pyle did win the fifth place match by fall over Carl Amerine (Wilmington).
