Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Thanks to Metro Sports for the Mo-Kan

Big thanks to the Metro Sports people for the fine job they did covering the Metro match. It was on tonight and will air again tomorrow night. It was my privledge to be on with Bob Glasgow and Dallas (the host and great commentator) and we had a ball. I hope we didn't mess Dallas up to much. I will tell you right now that if it wasn't for the Metro people no media outlet in the city would help us. You all saw that the Star did as little as they could for us pre-match, and we couldn't get a call back from our "famous" talk radio stars around town. Brother are they missing a great sports event. You show me a better crowd or a hotter contest for the buck in the metro area than this event and I will eat the keyboard I am typing on. Thank you metro and you did a marvelous job. All wrestling people who care about this event should call them and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Absolutely true...high school athletics gets little attention in the local papers, but Metro Sports does an amazing job of bringing the high school programs to the public spotlight. As with most states, football reigns supreme and Metro Sports does a fantastic job of recaps, summaries, updates, ceremonies, as well as the weekly "Game of the Week". A good many athletes probably owe a certain debt to Metro Sports for highlighting their careers and accomplishments, as well as giving them much needed publicity. Job well done!
