We are limiting the total entries to 400. Last year we had to run word of mouth due to a paperwork sanfu and had just shy of 300.

Augusta Wrestling Club is hosting an open and novice on the same day running at the same time in two different gyms. The date for that is Jan 21. The entry fee is $12 for either catagory. If you have any questions. call me @ 316-200-1205 or by email awckidswrestling@aol.com

How about some guide lines??? I don't think any wrestler winning an open tournament should be wrestling in novice tournaments. Or regularly placing in open tournaments should be in novice tournaments. I seen some kids that took 1st in the Haysville Open and even placed wrestled in the novice tournament the next day. That's not real fair to some of those kids that are really trying to learn about wrestling. Getting thumped by kids from the open tournament. That's just not good for the sport.

I personally think that Novice tournaments should only allow 1st and 2nd years wrestlers and no one who has placed in an open format tournament.

Andover Jr Wrestling will be hosting the Larry Drake Memorial Novice on January 29th. If you have Novice wrestlers who will not attend the Salina Tournament, this will be a good opportunity for them to wrestle on this weekend. There are no NFL games on the 29th! The flyer is posted on the website and we will be sending the mailing this week.

Chaparral is hosting a Novice Tournament on Febuary 26. We will be giving out trophies to the top four finishers in each bracket. We will also be trying to split up the first and second year wrestlers into their own brackets in the brackets that have enough wrestlers. Depending on the number of wrestlers we may run a split tournament also. For more information email Joey at ckwrestling1@hotmail.com.
