I understood the question:
Are the k-state brass or the k-state officials (meaning people with pull at KSTATE like the A.D., President or others along those lines) seeing any of the wrestling action that is there at Kstate.
I can probably answer that myself, but will let someone on the inside take it.

No..unfortuantley they aren't taking an active part in our sport..We do have discussions w/ them regarding this and meetings workign w/ the program to get it started but we'll see how far that can get us w/ little pull over Weiser and Wefald...hopefully in the coming years we'll se a greater uprise in their intrest as we push for a d-1 sport in wrestling...I am happy to announce though at the last dual..we had rouglhy 80 people show up to our normal 15...the stands where full in the gym and many people that were passing by stopped to watch and inquire about our wrestling program.

I know some DI's that pull only 250 so that is very good. The thing admin will look at though is attendance in Big XII conference for dual which is unfair to judge this early...maybe if Kstate can convince a DI in the Big XII to move a dual to a neutral site and have it at KSU, then we could get the ball rolling.

Attendance numbers of the other Big 12 schools would be a great thing to have in hand when approaching them. I think the three major concerns of the any athletic department are revenue generation, Title IX compliance, and alumni support. If any heads are to turn all three of these angles need to be attacked. Big 12 wrestling has major support. If someone has attendance figures for the Big 12 wrestling programs post them. Big 10 numbers may be nice to have as well. Many of those schools are close enough for regular competition. The school can still be in compliance under the new clarifications as I understand them. The recent Title IX clarifications by the Department of Education can be further explained. There are many K state wrestling alumni still involved in Kansas wrestling. If their voices were heard it would certainly help with persuasion to bring the program back. On another noteā¦Those recent attendance numbers are pretty amazing for a club team.

yeah our stands were very full and at times the gym was very loud.. Northwest Missouri state Surprisingly traveled pretty well bring roughly 10-15 fans of their own. IT was fun to see that many people getting involved in a club team that hopefully goes D-1 very very soon. As for Big 12 turnouts a few years ago i know Nebraska Vs a smaller school can't remember had quite a large gym full given that NU vs KSU football (of course kstate won) was going on right behind the gym at the same exact time.
