K-State only brought 4 guys to Dallas for the NCWA Nationals but didn't fare to bad.

Zac Coffman at 125 went 3-2 and lost in the conso quarters which on other college levels would have earned him A.A. status...NCWA does top 6 not 8, so he missed by one win.

Miles Nieffer went 0-2 at 141 but put up a good fight for KSU.

Drew Welchert went 2-2 at 157 with a very respectable showing.

Finally,

Steven Kern was 3-1 going into the consolation finals for 3rd, regardless of the outcome Kern will A.A.

Before the finals KSU was in 19th place but could have easily jumped with placement points and a solid win by Kern.

Aaron,

My son took five guys to NWCA from little LeTourneau University from Longview, TX. He started and is coaching this team. He now is the Director of Development for the Southwest Conference which KSU is part of.

He said Kern got manhandled by some bull of a guy. His face was bloodied on about four place on his face. J.C.(my son) said it was a not a pretty sight.

He said there was some awesome wrestling at NCWA. There were over 40 teams there wtih one from British Columbia.

J.C. is trying to get to arrange with Tillman to have KSU come to Texas on the condition that they can get up to KSU's tournament next year.

Just thought you would be interested.
