The Year-Ending Bash to end all Bashes.
District 1 is haveing a Free Wrestling Clinic for all USA-Wrestling members. It will be:

Saturday, Aug. 27th at Noon
Paola, Kansas

It will feature Eric Akin and Jason Powell
They will be showing Folkstyle besides Freestyle Technique.

I will also be selling any and all equipment left over from the Fargo - Kansas Junior and Cadet National Team.

I ran out of the award winning T-shirt up at Fargo on the 3rd day. But with a big enough response, I am thinking of making up some more and Gonz over at Blue Chip Athletic, said he could do it.

I would like to get some response from my wrestling family.

1. How many of you will be able to make the Clinic?

2. How many of you would like to buy a "Your my boy Blue" t-shirt, and which color would be the best to do, Black or Kansas Blue?

I want to think everyone for their support this last season and welcome you to the last blast of the 2005 Season.

Thanks,

Coach Peterman

Garret has a broken leg, but we will try to make it...better to just watch, than pass it up.

Yes the clinic will be at the High School. I am not sure about the shirts but I will have all the other left over equipment to sell.

I have also been told there will be a blues festival down town for any of those wanting to stick around and celebrate the last blast of summer and tunes.

Well that made my mind up. Time to bring up the bass guitar and get down with wrestling and the Blues. By the way coach, a shirt or two of Ol' blue would be nice.

Just checked out the schedule for the festival, that night The Fabulous Thunderbirds in concert. Here is a link to the schedule for the day. It looks like the festival costs $5. http://www.rootsfestival.org/bands.htm

I think some Manhattan kids are going.I'm not quite sure how many. Possibly 6. I'm sure they'd be interested in the shirts as well. (Maybe Coach Gonzo knows)

Wrestling, The Thunderbirds, Barbeque, Old Friends, we ought to call this, "The Taste of Heaven Weekend"

Still have room for 2 more from Wichita area or someone between Paola and Wichita. Number for a ride is 316-945-8485 or 316-841-5814

Good time and thanks to all of those involved. By the way, side story, if the gas gauge is broke, $15 worth of gas in Strong City will only get you within 5 miles of Paola if you are driving a van. Thanks to all again, all of the guys from Wichita enjoyed it and had to talk them off the mats an hour after everything shut down. It was great seeing some of you again and meeting some for the first time.

there was about 30+ kids. It was an excellent time. Thanks to Eric and the Gang. Also special thanks to Nate Furches who spent about 45 minutes after the camp was over working with my son. It impressed on me even more what great people wrestling produces. Eric gives back, Nate is giving back. Where else would you find a HS kid volunteering to work with a 11 yr old like that? I was a fan before but I am a bigger fan now.

Great camp, great scrapping, and great time!

Coach Akin,

Thanks for a great camp. Jason Powell's lazy boy craddle was sweet.

I have been meaning to get on here a post a big "THANKS" to Coach Tom Peterman for presenting Eric with a Trophy at the clinic....that was very nice of you and we really appreciate all of Kansas welcoming Eric back to the state like they have. I have said it before...it is so nice to be back in Kansas especially the wrestling community.
