Way to go Cadets. Do we know who is in their pool? (I believe they divide the top 8 into 2 pools - red & blue). Oklahoma, Kansas, ?, ?. Mike Elliott - looks like Scott is holding his own. What is he saying?

Mike, I take it they are still in. Matthew just said they were getting ready to dual Michigan.

You know more than me at this point. Michigan should be who is next, they beat Illinois 45-24.

I was lost a few duals ago. I thought that it was double elimination. I am totally confused.

Tracey, in the first pool they wrestled everyone, then the top 2 teams went to the finals brackets. From there most of the remainder went to the consolation finals. I am not sure how it goes, but I think that on the championship side there is something different. Someone else knowing more than me about the process can chime in.

They take the top two teams out of each pool. In pool D the top two teams were PA and KS. These two teams advance to the "championship pool" along w/ the top two teams from the other pools. Thus, 8 teams go to the championship pool (2 each from pool a, b, c & d). These 8 teams are then placed into a red pool and a blue pool. They then do a round robin wherein everyone in the pool wrestles each other. Once that is done we will know the 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place and 4th place from the blue pool and the red pool. Then 1st place from red pool will wrestle 1st place from blue pool for the greco championship. 2nd place from red will wrestle 2nd place from blue for 3rd. 3rds will wrestle for 5th. 4th in the pool will wrestle for 7th. You could go 0-3 in the red championship pool and that would put you in 4th in your pool. You would then go for 7/8. If a team didn't make it to the championship pool (i.e. not one of the top 8) then they take the top 16 of the teams remaining and place them into a single elimination bracket. This is called the consolation bracket. If you lose here you are done. One team will come out the consolation champion. It is a good way to keep the teams not in the top 8 wrestling. At schoolboy duals the kids failed to make the championship pool in either style but reached the finals of the consolation bracket in both styles (winning the greco)

Still waiting like everyone else, I know that matches for 1-4 is placed but nothing else. Anyone heard anything from anyone, I have made the phone calls and left messages but nothing in response.
