I know that the dates of the Silver College are not ideal this year, but still, it is a tremendous opportunity! The college costs $225.00 and here is what you’ll get.

Two full days of technique taught by some of the finest coaches in the world. Clinicians like Dan Gable, Dan Chandler, Tom & Terry Brands, Steve Frazier, Kevin Jackson, will be your instructors. You will be in the classroom for part of this but you will get tons of “on-the-mat” sessions. In the past, we have also had current stars Rulon Gardner, Garrett Lowney, and others.

You also receive an All-Session ticket to the Olympic Team trials. During breaks of the trials you will have more clinic sessions. There have been and will be other opportunities to attend a Silver College but only ONE, in every four years, is in conjunction with the Olympic Team trials. This alone makes this a unique opportunity.

Then there are the incidentals! A coach’s shirt that indicates you have attended the college and a “coach’s social.” The social is no small deal and USA Wrestling treats you right.

The College is a tremendous fellowship with coaches from all over the nation. You will be able to network and make friends that you’ll see in the future.

If wrestling is a family … don’t miss one of the biggest family re-unions of the season!

Is this a freestyle/greco or a folkstyle technique camp

It is a freestyle and Greco camp but a great deal of the techniques can be used in Folkstyle.

I can't wait for this years Silver Coaches College and the Olympic Trials. I can't wait to see if Cael Sanderson can fight his way through the mini-tournament and beat Lee Fulhart. I can't wait to see Eric Akin and Zach Roberson!

It is time to sign up for this clinic! Stop being so wishy-washy and sign up.

Brett Shoffner wants to go, Russ Hermreck wants to go ... who else?

When and where did Aiken qualify for the tournament?

Hopefully Bunch will be there too.
He can still wrestle and win Northeast or Southeast qualifier, right?

Akin finished third at the Central Regional qualifier held in Laramie, Wyoming.

I hope Shawn can make it too!

I didn't think that Akin had qualified yet. I thought only the champ from the regionals qualified with the top 8 from Nationals. I could be wrong. I think it says in one of the USA Wrestler magazines but I can't seem to find one of the three they always send me. I always take the extras and give them to people to promote our sport. Now I can't find the one I kept.

Any one out there.... give up a little clarification..................

I know Akin forfeited a match to Roberson in LV because he had already qualified and that allowed Zach to qualify also. rhill

I also thought that only the champion of each regional earned a spot. I have also looked on the list of qualifiers provided by themat.com and did not see Aiken's name on there.

After rereading the criteria I still cannot figure out how he has already qualified. Randy if you know please tell the rest of us, I have been straining my peanut sized brain trying to figure this out!

As Randy Hill also said, all I know is what I was told by Eric and by Kevin Klemm. He forfeited his match to Zach because he was already qualified.

Okay, I am 99.9% certain (found the info on themat.com message boards) that past world team members are automatic qualifiers.

Also, if this were not an olympic year, the NCAA champs are automatics!
