I am not taking a side here but put yourself in the place of All-American. You sign a contract w/ USA Wrestling that says you will be the only vendor. You send employees and merchandise to the forum at considerable cost. You agree to pay USA Wrestling a percent of your profit. You are all set to go when suddenly hundreds of other vendors (the kids with singlets) appear and start selling the same thing. I don't understand why someone would be upset w/ All-Amercian. They are just asking that their contract be respected.
Think of it this way. You sign a contract with your local high school so you can have exclusive use of the gym for wrestling practice on Monday nights. You show up on Monday and their are 100 kids playing ball in the gym thus affecting your practice. Wouldn't you expect the school to clear the kids out so you could practice? Wasn't that what you contracted for? Now the kids may be upset that they are getting kicked out of the gym but whose is at fault? You for trying to hold your practice as contracted? Or the school for entering into a contract giving one person exclusive use of the gym when they knew a lot of others wanted to use it also?
Mike - you are letting USA Wrestling off to easy. You said it isn't their fault. It is absolutely their fault. They are the ones who told All-Amercian they would be the exclusive vendor. USA Wrestling certainly knew that trading singlets was popular. USA Wrestling could have put into the contract w/ All American that trading of singlets by wrestlers would be allowed. But they didn't. Most likely because they wanted a higher piece of the profit.
Nothing is going to stop the singlet trading. At most it will move to a location outside or across from the Fargo Dome or at the dorms.
