The numbers for our tournament are down significantly this year, with about 250 entries. In an effort to maximize the quality of the event, we are going to change to an all-round-robin format. Many of these will be 5-man brackets, giving the wrestlers lots of matches.
Additionally, we will stay with the four full mats we've always used. In the morning, those four mats will be split into five wrestling surfaces. In the afternoon, everyone will be wrestling on a full-sized mat. The smallest wrestling surface anyone will compete on will be 24' x 38' (a regular wrestling surface is 28' in diameter).
While we're disappointed that the numbers are down, we are committed to doing everything we can to make this a top-quality event.
