I just got off the phone this evening and had a horrible experience with Cingular. Here is a question, what cell phone recommendations would you make? I am not intereted in Cingular so don't mention them, in fact, if you want contact me and I'll tell you a nightmare with their company. What company would you recommend. Benefits of that company, contract vs. pay per go benefits and so forth. I really value the input from those here. I also want to keep my cell number, a pain to have to change all of that stuff again. Thanks.

I like verizon because it seems like I get service in places most other people don't with other services.

I would NOT recommend Alltel. They have way too many "dead spots" in their coverage. I've had T-Mobile for appx 2 years & am very happy w/them. I chose the 600 anytime/anywhere minutes for $39.99 (bill actually ends up being $48 total). The things I like is their coverage area is pretty good & with any time/any where, you don't have to worry about call times etc.. I would suggest going to the Rock Road (North 2900 block?) store for your plan. You can probably talk them into an upgraded phone like a flip/camera. They will also carry your existing phone # over.
The first impression will be a lasting impression

i have tmobile also and have been pretty pleased, relatively good coverage. I wouldn't recommend pay as you go though, unless you practically never you use you're phone. If you use your phone regularly pay as you go will add up and be more expensive than getting a good plan.

We switched from Nextel to T-Mobile in August. While we liked Nextel, we thought it was rather expensive. We had also heard many people unhappy with Sprint and so were not excited about the merger. So far we have been very happy with T-Mobile. I've never had a roaming charge, while my husband has many with his Verizon. When we were in Wichita for HS State, every call my husband made was roaming!
T-Mobile also has a great unlimited text family plan for an additional $10 a month. It's almost like having another e-mail, pretty cool!

I got a few words for Cingular as well Mike, I'll keep em in my enormous head though. For a guy who has used about every service there is, I'd say Verizon is as good as it gets. I've used them in almost all 50 states and never once lost service. I even carry it on the mountain w/me!
