Just wanted to update you on the happenings of the up and coming Girls Only Team for Kansas. We are off and rolling and having some really good practices. We are having practice in Wichita on Wednesday nights at Northwest High School from 6-8 pm. We have been having about 15-20 girls at practice from age 6-18. We need to have all your girls tell the older girls in high school and middle school that GIRLS WRESTLING is now here. We are working on practice in the west and the east area.We are also setting up to have interstate squad duals. "NOW WE NEED A NAME FOR THE TEAM"= suggestions=KANSAS VOLCANOS / KANSAS CHAMPIONS/ KANSAS BARBWIRE GIRLS. If you have suggestions post for Coach Ed & Jenni.

The Kansas Crusaders doesn't sound too bad. That coachjt is pretty sharp. You could even spell Crusaders with a "K" and call them the Double-K for short.

Ed, is there a web site dedicated to Kansas girls westling? If there is one could you post the address. If not, it wouldn't be too hard to get one started.

This is coach Ed i read your suggestion and I'm also trying to fulfill your request. We are currently working with a coach in Lawrence to set up practice on wednesday if possible of every week. We will have practice once a month in Wichita at a high school to bring all the girl wrestlers in the state together. So be patient it will come in time we want it to be right.

HI MY NAME IS STACY LASSMAN, AND I PRESENTLY LIVE IN CHANUTE, KS. I WRESTLE ON THE CHANUTE HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM AT 103LBS. LAST SUMMER WAS MY FIRST TIME WRESTLING SINCE I WAS LITTLE. I WRESTLED ON THE KANSAS JUNIOR NATIONALS TEAM (WOMENS DIVISION) AND PLACED 8TH. I ALSO ATTENDED THE USA WOMENS DEVELOPMENTAL CAMP IN COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, AND I WRESTLED ON THE USA KIDS CLUB TEAM IN BALDWIN CITY, KS, WHERE I PREVIOUSLY LIVED. I WASN'T AWARE THERE WAS A KANSAS WOMENS TEAM, AND WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

To all who have'nt heard,

The team is Kansas Krusaders we practice every wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Then one sunday a month we bring all the girls together from the state to practice together at Southeast High School. We are a team of about 35 to 40 girls with ages from 6yrs old to 18 yrs. Our plans are to wrestle other states that wish and to attend USAW & USWGA tournaments. We chose the Krusaders because that is more or less what we are doing. Our goal is to further the sport of wrestling for both men and women and to give those girls a chance that retired because of maturity and age. This is an opportunity for all girls from east to west. Practices are being held in Lakin by Coach Fredriksen, and in Wichita by Coachs Edison and to be announced in the east,hopefully Burlingame or Lawrence. We are planning on wrestling all the way into the summer outfitting a team for the cadets,juniors,schoolgirls,novice and midget. I would be intrested up here in NE ks however I am not one that could head it, due to my class and work schedule its hard on me, but i would be intrested in helping some.
