I am assuming you are talking about State competition. Scott should do very well. Last year in his first year at 14 & under he placed 5th at State, so he competed well against the returning 9th graders last year. You have to believe he will compete even better against them this year in his second year of 14 & under. Like all 8th graders he does have a disadvantage to 9th graders due to their extra practice and the fact that they wrestle sophomores thru seniors both in practice and in meets.
Besides his placing at the State Folkstyle last year, Scott also won both the State Freestyle and Greco-Roman and placed second at The Southern Plains in Freestyle and Greco-Roman. I would say that he will be a definite threat at Kids State this year to place very high. He could become one of these rare 8th graders to win it.
