I realize this isn't the GR/FS site, but we always preach how summer wrestling makes state champs. You've got to see this youtube video. There are some stellar throws, but you should really check out the celebrations at the end. This has me wishing I could still go greco. I'm just too old, fat, out of shape, and broken. Other than that, I could probably do it. \:\)

Those where some sweet throws. I like the one where the black guy has his head under the other dudes arm and just hurls him. Never seen anyone get thrown from a position like that before.

Ryan, I added that to the wrestling group some time ago, anyone know what country this is from?

Regarding the saying regarding summer wrestling, I agree, but remember, some folks actually prefer the world styles, they might say, Winter wrestling, warm up for the World.

That was an awesome video, i like at the end when the guy throws one of his coaches and then another coach comes up and throws him. What country was that mostly from, i noticed how packed the stands were at most of those places.

I'm just glad we don't have the same uniform for the officials here!!!

My French speaking wife is pretty sure it was from France or a French based wrestling team or French hosted tournament.

Could not tell you what country for sure but if you look hard you can see some type of "Arabic" writing on the wall. it could actually have been in Iran, Armenia, or Turkey. Some of the countries wrestling Kazakistan(sp), Bulgaria, Japan, Germany, Russia, I think I also saw a Cuban in there. Many international meets are announced in French and English. I had a flashback to some of those FILA clinics where we would watch a video and score the action. Funny same video same action could get scored a dozen different ways. This new official uniform was one of the reasons I gave up my FILA License. I thought it was stupid to wear a jacket and tie to ref a wrestling match.

Did you notice how rocking the crowd was for the matches? That was the best part, almost better than an Iowa-Iowa State dual!

Mr. Furches I mostly agree with you. I don't want to minimize the importance of High School wrestling but I find myself looking forward more and more to the FS/Greco season. Iknow that I have only been doing it for 3 years and I didn't understand it at first but there is just something about putting on a Team Kansas singlet at the Duals and going out there. I don't know if it's just being around some of the best wrestlers in the state or nation for that matter or what. I don't want this to be taken the wrong way, but after Junior Duals and Fargo, sometimes High School wrestling seems almost boring at times.
