I will second those congratulations to these fine freshmen wrestlers. They will all probably be contributors to their teams at this year's state tournament and for the next four years.

Vince: If the freshmen contribute to their respective teams success at this years state tournament(s) will they also be able to contribute "for the next four years."? Would not this year plus the next four years amount to five years of high school competition?

For example in Jewish cultures the year you are in counts as a year, thus 4 years. Then again, maybe they use a different system in parts of the state. That's okay though, most of us know what you meant Husker Fan.

Vince is actually still correct. After they graduate, they can still contribute by advice and motivation to the team!

I just got back on this topic. At this point it would not do much good to edit my original post. I appreciate those of you that came to my defense but it was indeed a small mistake. If someone had pointed it out to me in a private e-mail, I would have immediately edited my original post.
Richard,
I know you like to closely check my posts for these types of mistakes. I do not have a problem with that and I actually appreciate it. I do believe adults should be setting a good example in posting. I would actually prefer you to point out these mistakes to me in a private e-mail. I will then edit these mistakes. We have exchanged several civil e-mails. I believe this proposed method would work unless for some reason you have some need to point out my errors in such public way. In case you have lost it, my e-mail is: vlnowak@everestkc.net
Sincerely your friend in Kansas wrestling,

Aldon:
I appreciate your support.
I also want to congratulate you on your victory this weekend in your match with Mitch Arnold. It sounds like it was a classic match and I wished I could have seen it. I saw some excellent wrestlers at the Bobcat this weekend so I just recently have seen how intense matches of this caliber can be. You and Mitch are two of the best high school wrestlers in Kansas. I do not know if you two are ranked nationally but you both should be. I have watched you over the last several years in matches. You are an incredibly competitive and skilled wrestler. I hope to be following your career in college, if it is your goal to be a college wrestler.
Good luck to you for the rest of the season.
Thank you again for your support.

Jace Banner from Garden City was left out of this post. He placed 4th at 189lbs.
Just didn't want to leave anyone out.

Just didn't want to leave anyone out. Congratulations to Jace Banner for placing 4th at 189 in this tournament. I think it is very difficult for freshmen wrestlers to successfully compete at these heavier weights since they have to wrestle against so many juniors and seniors. Most of the time the freshmen are unable to overcome the strength and speed difference. I am very impressed with both Jace Banner and Lucas Vincent of Olathe North 285 for placing fourth in their divisions as freshmen in this high quality tournament.

I want to extend congratulations to Tanner Johnson (SME). He is a real asset to the SME team and is a big part of our success this year. Looking forward to three, four or five (whatever) more years of your contributions. Good job - Super Frosh! MB

Tanner is an impressive young man and wrestler. It is obvious that he has been raised well as a wrestler and as a young man of character. I would see him as the type of young man who will come back to contribute as a mentor to his old high school wrestling team after his high school career is over. I think SM East will probably have to wait at least four years after his high school graduation for Tanner's post high school contributions to the SM East wrestling program because I think this young man will wrestle in college.

As my son says, Tanner is the most dedicated wrestler he knows. He has stated many times that he wished he had Tanner's work ethic. Tanner is amazing!!
