There are a ton of 5A kids in there, so a lot of those matchups could be seen at state. Especially at 145, because not only would that be a tough matchup, but I know Milstead will want in there too after his tough loss in the Bobcat finals!
This week we should see Evans v. Mamie, and didn't Evans have a close match with Elliot? That will be a fun bracket to watch at state too!

I personally thought the Elliot/Evans match was brutul to watch. Not very much action going on. Hopefully Mamie will be as exciting this year as he was last, just to make it a decent match to watch.

I would say, 8-6 Newton in that dual.

I think the top 3 "show-stoppers" would be Furches vs Hase @ 112, Ely vs Callahan @ 130, and Andrus vs Zlatnic @ 285. Also, have Allen-CC and Schroeder-AND ever met up?

allen and schroeder faced each other at the clay tourney earlier this year. it was tied 5-5 with about 45 seconds left when one of them (don't remember who) tried something offensive. there was a scramble and allen ended up getting taken down and put to his back.

I think if Zlatnik were to be aggressive then its not even close.

I was thinking 9-5 Newton, with several of those Newton wins coming by bonus.

The Bobcat champs would get bonus points at 119, 152 and maybe 160 while only giving up extra points at 130 and possibly 112 and 145.

Final score: Newton 32 Bobcat 25

I believe Isenberg vs. Somers could happen this weekend at the Husky invitational. If it does, that should be a great match as well.

I believe Isenberg bumped up to 140# at Newton so he could wrestle Arnold-BC. He stated in another thread he doesn't plan on staying there.

I think Zlatnic is the best 285 pounder in the state. If not, it would really be something to see him go down.

I think Newton gets bonus at 171 as well.
