A note from the 5A Ranking Coordinator:

I know there are going to be mistakes and questions of my judgment. The more I look at 5A, the more I realize how competitive the overall classification really is. Please be patient. I am making updates daily. Realize there are so many variables, especially when some schools never see each other. I will send out another update soon.

Particulary active has been the 152 lb. weight classification with several wrestlers having faced each other and splitting victories.

Please keep us informed.

These are your rankings and are only as good as the information provided.

Did Hoag and Williamson also wrestle on the backside in the fifth place medal match?

According to the results Williamson was the fifth place medalist and Hoag placed sixth.

Richard,

I agree with you that 5A is a very difficult class to rank this year. Even the team ranking has to be difficult with the two top teams so far both having great success in the tournaments that they have wrestled in this year. I think you are doing a good job with this ranking. It is going to be impossible for anyone to completely agree with you from week to week, but I think everyone knows and appreciates that you are being fair and working very hard at it. Thank you for the time and the hard work.

If anything, G-E should feel a little "over-ranked" since Hutch beat them at the Newton tourney by 27.5 points...Just my observation.

Teamwise, one thing is for sure, Carrol and my boys are going to have a shootout in the Coliseum. I could very well see it coming down to matchups in the finals.....both consolation and championship.
