Who will be the one's to look for at these two weights. Have seen many good wrestlers at both weights during club season. Who should we look for from High school at these weights?
I see Tanner Johnson as the favored.
Kenny Cummings Elk County will wrestle 135 after high school and should be going for a Kids State place.
why does everyone talk up the highschool wrestlers like they will place at kids state kids in the mini wrestling have been working just as hard as the high schoolers more than half of the kids from highschool will more than likely not place at kids state bc the kids in minis want it more than the kids in highschool
I firmly believe Trent Robb could wrestle with anyone at either one of these weights even though I like him better at 135. I have had the privelage of coaching him the past 6 to 7 years and his work habit is second to none. Good luck to him at state and congrats to him for his 6th place finish at Liberty Nationals

Every year the High School kids dominate the 14U brackets. That's why they "talk them up". A few 8th graders place but not many. There is no comparison on the work they put in. 5-6 days a week against Juniors and Seniors prepare them beyond any kids club wrestler.
Chris Coover from Ottawa is looking real good!!@ 135#
Watch for Jake Hattabaugh & Trent Robb. They are always tough.
Keep an eye out for 14U 135 comming out of Leavenworth!!!
What happened to Nick Pursel at sub-districts ?
Joey Dozier out of GC will be a tough at 135
What happened to Nick Pursel at sub-districts ?
I was wondering the same thing - he was injured in the match against Trent Robb in the semi-finals. Hope that he is okay!
Can someone tell us how Nick is doing ?
Nick messed up the growth plate in his hip joint, (kind of like a really bad hip flexor/dislocated hip). To what extent I am not sure. He is going to a specialist today but is on crutches. He is a tough kid who has come along ways this year. Hopefully he gets decent news today, but he will be down for a while.
24/7
24/7 is right about Nick getting hurt. We still aren't sure the extent and awaiting word from his appointment yesterday.
I just wanted to say that we are really proud of Nick and it is a pleasure having him on the Spartan Team! He had a great season and it's too bad he got the injury. Hopefully, he will recover quickly and can get back for next year.
Shawn Budke

From Paul:
This is my first entry into the forum, & the second time in years to even pull it up. The first being about 2 hours ago when I viewed the tremendous outpring of concern for Nick. First, thanks to the young man who gave up his spot in the line up for X-rays to Nick. This courageous young man, with a clearly broken arm, gave up his spot in line for the X-ray machine to Nick because there was a chance, at that time, that Nick may have been able to return to the tournament. This was one of the most outstanding displays of sportsmanship I have ever seen! Next, I want to thank the Beacham’s, our son’s were in the ER together and they clearly benefited from the support of the other. Mike, I hope you are healing well. Finally, I want to update you all on Nick, he has seen three doctors. Initial concerns were, of dislocation & for the growth plate @ the hip end of the femur. Those fears are laid to rest & diagnosis is now of a sprained hip. Although rare, the treatment is the same as an ankle or knee. Rest etc. It’s hard to hold him down! He is heart broken but wanting the others in his bracket to continue to wrestle tough while taking nothing for granted. This will be life lesson in humility and perseverance for Nick, please accept our thanks! Pursel’s-Paul, Pam, Matt, Chris, & Nick.
keep your eyes on Brant Johnson at 130 he is looking realy quick and confadent
