I have seen this rule utilized three different ways this season.

1) Break the hold, stop the match and award the number of earned back points. (2 for less than 5 and 3 for 5 or more seconds)

2) Break the hold, stop the match and award an automatic 3.

3) Break the hold, stop the match and award the back points plus a bonus 1 (ie. the "Cry baby" rule.)

Number 2 appears to be accurate after I read the rules but it does not seem fair either. If it is a potentially dangerous situation and it occurs 1,2,3, or 4 count(s) after the wrestler has been placed on his back then I would think that only 2 points should be awarded.

If the match is stopped specifically because of an uncontrolled high bridge, then three points are awarded.

If the match is stopped because of a possible injury (ie. the "Cry baby" rule), and not because of the high bridge, then the back points earned would be awarded, plus one additional point. This could occur in the case of a high bridge that the official considered to be under control.

I can't think of any case in which your option #1 would be the correct call.
