Make weight, skin check forms if needed, don't forget your headgear, shoes & singlet, coaches card, no coolers in gym, 2 coaches in the corner and follow all the other rules. Oh and have fun!

Anonymous Paul,

You raise an interesting point about the wives and I would like to share some things I have learned to help you newbies out.

1. Tell her she looks lovely and ask if she has lost weight.

2. Tell her you are researching diamond tennis bracelets.

3. If that doesn't work. Try a stick.
Posted By: Owlbacker Re: Read before you go to state - 03/25/09 08:02 PM
Windjammer....thanks...but it didnt really help

I forgot to look up when telling her how lovely she looks

I told her about the tennis bracelets and she went off about just another sport to drive kids back and forth to games and practices....probably my fault she doesnt know what a bracelet is(telling her it was a shiny coaches band didnt do the trick)

If you see me at state and notice me walking funny...I will tell you what she did with the stick.

Not meaning to be a critic Jammer, but you forgot that unlike us wives listen to what we say. If I use your suggestions the answers would be

1. No, are you saying I need to lose weight?

2. If it's for me I think I should be able to help pick it out. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

3. Good call on this one Jammer, I have no rebuttal.

I will be watching the game at my house in Lawrence after getting home from weigh ins. The food and refreshments are relatively cheap, the couch is very comfortable, and the latrine is pretty close to the couch. Then, I will head back to Topeka to watch some wrestling on Saturday. Then, back to Lawrence later that day. Then, back to watch more wrestling on Sunday morning. Then, hopefully, back to Lawrence to watch KU play that night. If you think wrestling families don't cover some ground, you don't have a wrestler in your family. For all or you that are traveling many, many, many miles more than we will this weekend, please drive safe. Good luck, and Godspeed.

As should all wrestling fans who are in Topeka for any reason, or within a reasonable drive. A last chance to pay tribute to many of our wrestlers who have come up through the kids ranks, and a way to have the kids in the current kids ranks see some outstanding wrestling.

An absolute MUST for wrestling fans is to attend this event!! I really do like basketball and will be cheering on the Jayhawks but they (or any other event) will take second fiddle to an outstanding wrestling event!

One of the goals for our wrestlers is to compete in high school and ultimately, compete in the Senior Classic! I would rather my wrestler spend a couple of hours watching this premier event than back at the motel in the swimming pool!!

I can't imagine being a coach, being in town, and missing this event!

I predict ... there will be a few bouts in this Classic ... that will be talked about on these forums forever!!

You're my boy blue. Just read that they would have a hospitality room with buffet line at state. Only $6.50.
Posted By: PatrickCavanaugh Re: Read before you go to state - 03/26/09 06:33 PM
6.50!! Last time I had that kind of hospitality I was in New York City. "New York City, get a rope"
Posted By: windjammer Re: Read before you go to state - 03/26/09 06:56 PM
Ren and Stimpy. That is way more awesome than the monkey.

Patrick,

I will be out about a million dollars in gas, hotel and food. A Topeka person complaining about $6.50 is completely unacceptable. You are a bad person.

Sincerely,
Paul Blart

Ha! This bad person magically switched Dale back to a polar bear. Monkey doesn't take a back seat to a cartoon. Hey Paul, how did a mall cop save a million bucks!

Pretty handy to have around the house in case your pipe bursts.....and, with the cold weather that we have here in Kansas, that can happen.

J. Dale,

Let me start by saying, great avatar! A little advice though, tell Ren and Stimpy to be very alert while dancing around PC's monkey, because I heard that he likes to poke things with a stick.
Posted By: J. Dale Re: Read before you go to state - 03/27/09 02:01 AM
I hope that's all he tries to use.
Posted By: nix Re: Read before you go to state - 03/27/09 02:10 AM
well after little nix did not make it past subs, and after reading this post, i am going to wait for the 10 to 12 inches of snow here in scott city and drown myself in it. that way on saturday when you all are having fun in topeka i won't have to think what could have been darn that little nix.lol

well all you guys and gals have a safe trip, great wrestling and i hope all of your kids are safe and do very well this weekend.
