A very special young man from Hutchinson is battling for his life. Tyler Graebner, who wrestles for Team Lightning, has been diagnosed with liver and pancreatic cancer, and is currently undergoing treatment in Kansas City.

Tyler is a great little kid, with equally terrific parents. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Eight year old fighting for his life.

Situations like this break my heart. I hope that since there are medical bills involved, tournaments and others will take the initiative to take up money at tournaments to send the family. Tyler, Team Lightening know that there are many of us out here praying for you. Is there any place where we can send gifts or greetings to the hospital, let us know. I am also going to post this on the national forum and ask people to send greetings to him.

Your thoughts and prayers will greatly be appreciated!!! I know Tyler would love to hear from as many of you as possible!!

I am planning on being in Kansas City this weekend for the Dual tournament. I would love to take my son and go by and visit Tyler, does anyone know if he is open to receiving visitors and the times? A reminder to all of the tournaments as well, please consider taking up money to help with the expenses. I really appreciate Hillsboro last week doing this and would hope that all of the tournaments take the lead this weekend. No one has enough insurance and hopefully as a community we can help each other out.

For all of you who are wondering...Tyler is still at the Children's Mercy Hospital in KC and yes, he can have visitors and needs them! Right now his spirits seem to be pretty good! He started chemo this week and if all goes well he may be home some time next week. He'll be home for a couple of weeks then he'll have to go back for his second treatment of chemo. Please continue to keep him in your prayers!

Thanks to everyone at the Hillsboro Takedown for your donations! I know one of the parent's jobs is not working with them at all during this time and no vacation time is left so any kind of donation would greatly be appreciated!!!

Tyler has been fortunate to have Ed Kinnison, #87 from the KC Chiefs, come and visit him and has the OU wrestling team keeping him in their thoughts and prayers. They sent him an autographed tank top and it really brightened his day!! Send him a card and let him know you're thinking about him...a little thing can go a long way!!

I'll keep you updated as the long journey continues!!

I just received a call from Tyler's mom and she wanted me to send out a big thank-you to WWC for the nice plaque you sent. She said he is doing really well. She asked that y'all continue to pray for him!

This weekend Nathan got sick and I wasn't feeling well either so we didn't go by the hospital. I do have a All-American shirt that was signed by all of the wrestlers, Eric Akin and Tom Peterman to give Tyler. If someone could please give an address or give me a call I would appreciate it. Another note, Sooner Mom or someone associated with the club and Tyler give me a call or email. There are some things I want to check with you on. Please do this in the next couple of days if possible. My cell number is 316-841-5814

I received GREAT news today from Tyler himself that he is coming home today. He is so excited and it is fantastic that he'll be home to spend Christmas with his family!! He'll be home for approximately 3 weeks then he'll have to return to KC for round two of chemo.

I'm passing along a "thank you" from Christina, Tyler's mom, to Kaden Rohr and his family from the Russell Wrestling Club for keeping Tyler in your thoughts by sending him his package. You don't realize how much it brightened his day!!!

So far The University of Oklahoma has come through and now I hear that Zac Roberson and Iowa State is going to be sending in a signed shirt for Tyler. This is great, what other colleges are letting this little warrior know that they are with him?

Mike I have talked with my friend Tammy better known to you on themat.com as Fanforlife and I think she might be able to pull something out of her sleeve for this lil warrior. She's got a pretty good OLYMPIC sized boss with a heart of gold.

Did get a email today from Oklahoma State University, they are sending up a signed poster. I am also speaking with the AD at Newman on Monday to discuss possibility of hosting something here in Wichita. Are there others who might be willing to host something, I need a large enough space to fit a minimum of 50 - 100 kids and depending on the event as many as a couple of hundred. What I will say is that I am working right now for something over Christmas Break with some "big" names to attend. Won't say anything much more than that at this point but we need a place to host the event, possibly a place with some seating room.

Just a reminder to everyone that Tyler is doing pretty good and is at home. If you have anything to send to him his address is...1002 W. 17th, Hutch, KS, 67502. Please let him know that you're continuing to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

The response from the wrestling community has far exceeded my wildest hopes and expectations. If the true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good, then this outpouring of support speaks volumes about the quality of the people involved in our sport.

that's good to hear tyler's home i'll be praying for him and his family cause i know how its gotta be...because my best friends little brother had been diagonosed(sp?) with cancer 2 years ago and he is now on remission.....one thing that might be an idea to raise money is to hold a benefit auction....thats what we did to help raise funds for my best friends little brothers treatments...i'll talk to some people here in my hometown and see if i can get them to donate money to TYLER. My thoughts and prayers go out Tyler and his family!

It was one year ago this week that Mike Juby created this thread and made this post. Just thought we could all use a little reminder of the need to love and care for each other during the Christmas Season. We never know when it will be the last.

The power of prayer is the greatest...My grandson was 3 and had a brain tumor...they removed it in Wichita and he is 13 now...I know that it was all the people that said daily prayers him...hang in there, prayers can heal...gram
