Kansas Wrestling
Joe Johnston ran a camp the last week of July that my son attended and he highly recommends it. As most of you know Joe Johnston was a two time state champion at SM East. He went on to wrestle at the University of Iowa where he had a great career. He was a two time All American and one time NCAA finalist. He is one of the all time great wrestlers in Kansas history.

Joe ran a kids camp in the morning and a high school camp in the afternoon. The high school camp emphasized training and conditioning. The high school wrestlers were introduced to the type of hard work that a college wrestler encounters. Joe made himself available to answer questions on what it is like to wrestle in college. He also taught some new skills to the high school kids that will help them next year. Put this down as a must attend camp next year for yourself.

Here is an article on the camp:

Awesome post Husker Fan. Sounds like a great example to learn from.
I will second that recommendation of Joe's camp. He is a fantastic clinician and in true Kansas fashion, gave back to the sport he loves. The cost of the camp was minimal and he cut no corners. He brought the Gable mentality to our wrestlers.

Thanks again Joe!
Thank you, Jason. Joe is an excellent role model for any young wrestler who wants to take his skills to a higher level and to possibly wrestle in college. He demonstrates the value of hard work and perseverance in meeting your goals. Those are two attributes that Joe exhibited throughout his own wrestling career. He showed in this camp that he also knows how to pass these attributes onto to young athletes.

As Chief said the cost of this camp was very reasonable. This camp is well worth the cost.
