Posted By: tom stone Re: 100 Wins - 01/19/09 12:34 AM

its great to see these wrestlers doing so well but are there any kids that are close to one hundred pins in four years?
Good to see so many good wrestlers working hard because to win a hundred matches with today good wrestlers its becomeing harder to do.

Alan Callahan of Baldwin recently passed the 150 win mark earlier this year.
Posted By: lovewrestling Re: 100 Wins - 01/20/09 01:25 AM
there are nine listed wrestlers who have had at least 100 career pins. Neil Erisman of DeSoto has the record with 116.

I believe Kyle Detmer of Bishop Carroll has passed the 100th win mark. His coach also told me that he now has 97 pins too!!

C.J. Napier of Columbus is obviously in the 200-300 range for wins
Posted By: Bad MaamaJamma Re: 100 Wins - 01/21/09 02:53 PM
maybe we should start a new thread that is 200-300 WINS!?

I don't know if it is possible to get over 50 wins in a year but according to the KWCA's website the single season record for wins is 46. The most wins for an undefeated season that I saw on the KWCA website was for a 45-0 record.
Posted By: LancerLou Re: 100 Wins - 01/21/09 06:50 PM
Maybe poeple are not aware that this milestone only includes Varsity High School wins. If you spent freshman year on JV, those wins don't count. Same as any Kids or freestyle/greco wins.
Posted By: usawks1 Re: 100 Wins - 01/21/09 07:05 PM
But it is "possible" to have 84 wins per year according to KSHSAA standards!
Posted By: bigfatwrestler Re: 100 Wins - 01/21/09 07:06 PM
if you wrestle all dual tournaments! just ask valley center
Posted By: Husker Fan Re: 100 Wins - 01/21/09 07:14 PM
If the reason that the question about the over 50 wins in a season possibility was due to the post on Alan Callahan going over 150 wins already this season, I think it is very possible that is true. According to the state tournament records Alan had 43 wins last year. Alan has been very successful in his high school career. If he averaged 43 wins for three years he would have had 129 career wins after last year and he could easily have over 21 so far this year. By the way, Kevin Callahan has the current state career record at 171.

I have Alan at 155 wins right now having 43 wins his freshman year and 42 his sophmore year and 43 his junoir year and is sitting at 27 wins for this season.

Derrick Weller (Junior) from Piper High School earned his 100th win this past Saturday(2-7-09).
Posted By: Ricky Bobby Re: 100 Wins - 02/08/09 10:00 PM
100 wins is not nearly the accomplishment it used to be when dual and pool tournaments did not exist.
Posted By: GT Kid Re: 100 Wins - 02/08/09 11:25 PM
Westin Shay of Oz has passed the 100 win mark
Posted By: Bad MaamaJamma Re: 100 Wins - 02/09/09 01:25 PM
Chuck Norris on his 10,000th high school win! Thats pretty incredible if you ask me
Posted By: Baldwin Re: 100 Wins - 02/09/09 05:06 PM
Alan has wrestled varsity all 4 years. He currently has 35 or so wins this year putting him at 163 for his career. 8 Shy of his older brother Kevin. With League/Regionals and State left, he should be pretty close to beating or at least tying it!
Posted By: up4wrestling Re: 100 Wins - 02/09/09 09:24 PM
Cole Geisen of Holton High School has over 100 wins...and as of this weekend Kane Lovvorn of Holton High also has 100 wins!

Kinda rude to add the name of the wrestler he beat. Espically when that wrestler shows so much class and dedication.
Posted By: Ricky Bobby Re: 100 Wins - 02/13/09 05:30 PM
I think it’s all the more props for Anderson for beating someone that is as good as Bryce Hood for his hundredth win instead of some fish in a dual or opening round of a tournament. When Hood gets his hundredth win I hope it against someone who has a couple of yellar state medals it will mean a little more to him.
Posted By: Harry LaMar Re: 100 Wins - 02/16/09 01:21 AM
Brett LaMar from Silver Lake earned his 100 this weekend!
Posted By: budke31 Re: 100 Wins - 02/16/09 04:21 PM
100 wins may be more attainable with the dual tournaments and added opportunities for matches, but 100 wins is 100 wins. Congratulations to every wrestler who earns 100, its a great accomplishment and should not be watered down by anyones rational for how it might have been reached. Those LaMar boys are pretty tough, I think Harry earned his 100th old timers tournament win some time ago, that may be the toughest 100 to reach
Posted By: Ricky Bobby Re: 100 Wins - 02/17/09 03:17 AM
Hopefully Brett will have a state medal this year to go along with those 100 plus wins.
Posted By: brycehoodfan Re: 100 Wins - 02/17/09 06:58 PM
C.J. Napier at the beginning of this season he had 104 wins so he is no where close to 200 - 300 wins in his career. Good Job C.J.
