At 215 Steven Kyler of Ellsworth is at 19-0 and I think that Tanner Kriss of Colby is also undefeated.

I saw the match. I know and respect both wrestlers and that call was not gifted. It was a close call that could have gone either way. I know that Woten is not complaining about it. He took it like the warrior that he is.

Tyler Anderson at 135 from Clay Center is now 26-0.

I agree that both of these young men are warriors. It was really a fun match to watch as well. Two master technicians battling as hard as they can. I just felt that Nowak was in trouble on the edge in overtime, and if the takedown wasn't called, then fleeing probably should have been. In no way did I mean any disrespect to Nowak. 215 is a tough weight class this year and to do what he has done so far is amazing, and maybe a little luck doesn't hurt sometimes.

Tyler Sutherland of Liberal, is undeafeated.
Posted By: mom4 Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/25/09 09:29 PM
Noel Richardson from Chapman at 171 is undefeated.
Posted By: Dean Welsh Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/25/09 11:10 PM
Are these two undefeated - if not, who beat them?

1. C.J. Napier - 12 - CO - 4A
2. Kendric Maple - 12 - WH - 6A

I haven't seen Napier before. But, Maple I have seen. Both last year and this. Very impressive.
Posted By: greyeagle Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/26/09 07:26 PM
Breck Arnberger from Colby 28-0
Posted By: church Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/26/09 10:19 PM
Kendric Maple 2008-2009 24-0
2007-2008 41-0
Posted By: Dean Welsh Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/26/09 10:21 PM
Thank you Mr. Church. Does Maple plan on wrestling in college?

And while I intend no disrespect to any one wrestler, Chris is the most impressive wrestler I have personally seen this year, and a very fine young man to boot.
Posted By: Dean Welsh Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/26/09 10:56 PM
Wow, that is impressive. Where is Mr. Watson from and what grade is he in?
Posted By: Mike Furches Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/26/09 11:02 PM
Andover Central and I think a SR. Another fine example of the benefits of summer wrestling as he is very well rounded in all positions, from his feet to ground technique. He normally uses technique from those styles which he has adapted to folkstyle.

Walker Bobby 0-0
Texas Ranger Bobby 0-0

I'm holdin' 'em out this year so they can perfect their spider monkey technique.

Mitchell did take second at the Kansas City National Classic tournament in December this year.
Posted By: ksman01 Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/30/09 01:24 PM
If you look at the previous state brackets and add up his records

40-4 freshman year
45-3 sophomore year
30-0 currently

He stands 115-7 still a very impression toll for only being a junior. Looks like this young man is well on his way to smashing the state record.
Posted By: Scarecrow_103 Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/30/09 02:31 PM
yes still VERY impressive... im not saying he is a bad wrestler.. he is quite the wrestler, and a good kid.. he is still 15 off of 130... he will get it soon, and i wouldnt be surprised if he breaks the all time wins record.... who are the losses too??
i know of 2... 1 too keller in the finals last yr, and 1 too keller in the semis two yrs ago... it was pretty exciting when he wrestled canale in the finals at rosehill 2 yrs back
Posted By: ksman01 Re: Undefeated wrestlers - 01/30/09 03:17 PM
I beleive most of those losses are to Keller, valley met up a lot with bc in those two years. I am sure coach Shelton could help you out with that one.
