did something happen to PV 112?
Posted By: wrestlermom23 Re: 4A Rankings - February 8th - 02/09/09 02:55 AM
how can Scott CIty win 5th at Garden and go to 7th in the ranking?
Posted By: RedStorm Re: 4A Rankings - February 8th - 02/09/09 03:18 AM
Prairie View 112 was at 119 last tournament, don't know if he will stay there or not

Scott City is good, tell me where the would have finished at Garden City if
Colby, Clay Center, Abilene, Chanute & Columbus were there too? I know they essentially tied with Andale.

Last time the Beavers won 4A state, they were ranked 10th going in. These are just based off of the current 4A rankings, not neccessarily tournament finishes.

At 215 taylor wuthnow beat Michael Patenaude at the abilene clay center dual.

PV 112 went to 119 to compete. He actually weighin in at 112.
At sL Inv. State champ was 3rd, state placer was 2nd, state placer was 4th, bo was 5th with 39 wins.

How is Wichita Independent still #8? I think you guys are missing a good Eastern team in the top ten.
Posted By: RedStorm Re: 4A Rankings - February 8th - 02/09/09 05:41 PM
Enlighten me, please.

So what should they be ranked because I dont think 4 ranked kids is gonna do them any better.

Mr.DeWitt Just to let you know Rodriguez beat Numrich again this week, that makes it 2 wins 1 loss against him.

why is alan callhan ranked 3rd instead of 2nd?
Posted By: RedStorm Re: 4A Rankings - February 8th - 02/16/09 03:26 AM
He's ranked third because Ornales and Moeder are ranked ahead of him?

Because Ornelas hasn't lost to either of them and Moeder owns the last win over Callahan.

This will be a great battle for the top of the podium in two in 12 days!

I like all three but I am pulling for TMoeder! Go Thunder!

Correction: Ornales lost to Callahan at Eudora, but I believe Ornales beat Moeder and Moeder is 2-1 against Callahan and Ornales is a two-time champ so I think the rankings made sense to me.

Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that match. Correction back at you. Ornelas has NOT beaten Moeder since the semis last year at state. In some of the seeding meetings that means nothing. You are the ranker but I guess I would have to go with Moeder, Callahan, Ornelas in light of that Eudora match.

he's won state in h.s. once which was last year against that andale kid

You have a tough call in 4A on this one Bill. Here is the reason I have my 112 All-Class this way.

112
1. Kenneth Ornelas - 12 - CH - 4A
2. Isaac Ruiz - 11 - JC - 6A
3. Taylor Moeder - 10 - SJA - 4A
4. Alan Callahan - 12 - BAL - 4A
5. Dalton Miller - 11 - WC - 6A
6. Nathan Reed - 11 - CB - 4A
7. Trevor Boyer - 11 - MV - 5A
8. Francisco Antillon - 11 - SC - 4A
9. Adrian Salas - 11 - LB - 5A
10. Dane Norris - 10 - MH - 6A

Callahan beat Ornelas early. Ornelas beat Ruiz even earlier. Ruiz beat Callahan at Basehor ahead of Moeder in that bracket. Moeder beat Callahan in their last match. If you take Ruiz out of the mix in 4A, I would probably go, Moeder 1, Callahan 2, Ornelas 3. Different than All-Class but would probably fly in a seeding meeting.

Callahan has beaten Moeder twice this year, 3-1 at Basehor in the semi's and 3-2 at Gardner. The one time Moeder beat Callahan was 1-0. Ruiz and Callahan went to overtime in their match I think. Callahan beat Ornales 6-2 or 3 I think. This will all be sorted out in two weeks. I'm looking forward to the great matches that will occur!

Too bad Ruiz isn't in 4A...

I heard Ruiz’s whole family moved to Chapman this week so he could be on their team for regionals and state to prove that he is the top 112 pound wrestler in the state once and for all.
