Kansas Wrestling
What all schools out there don't wrestle in a league?

We don't here @ Lincoln.
Central Of Burden and West Elk dont. They are the only schools in the South Central Border League that have wrestling so they have no league.
For the most part it is only smaller 321A schools that do not have leagues to wrestle in. For the most part all of the 6A, 5A, and 4A programs have wrestling and they are also in leagues with similar sized schools making it easier to have a league tournament or dual schedule. Of the smaller schools it seems like many are on the eastern half of Kansas. Here is a list of the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
Erie
Central Heights
Mission Valley
Sedgwick
Flint Hills
Remington
Chase County
Are there schools in the leagues with the above mentioned schools that are viable for a wrestling program? If so, what schools would that be? We've been doing very good at adding programs in the state but we need to keep it up and continue to look for opportunities.
St. James Academy is not in a league!
Bennington is a new program from a coop with Minneapolis they aren't in a league. I know there is a link on the KSHSAA website of all the leagues in Kansas and each school that is in them but I can't find it at this moment.
central heights is in the pioneer league but they dont have a wrestling tourn. for league
Onaga is not in our league, but we added them to our Mid East League Dual tourney to get 5 matches. They are now in our wrestling MEL. Works out great because nobody in their league wrestles.
These schools are the only true independents:
Atchison (will join KCK in 2009-2010)
Kansas City-Turner

These are schools that wrestle in leagues that do not have a championship either by duals or tournament:
Stafford
Burlingame
Rosalia-Flinthills
Burden-Central
Howard-West Elk
Garnett-Anderson County
LaCygne-Prairie View
Mound City-Jayhawk Linn
Osawatomie
Richmond-Central Heights
Wellsville
Chase County
Council Grove
Eskridge-Mission Valley
Herington
Bennington
Goessel
Hutchinson-Trinity
Little River
Moundridge
Peabody-Peabody-Burns
Sedgwick
Whitewater-Remington
Lincoln
St. James Academy does NOT belong to a league. Wouldn't that make them a "true independent"?
Does Little River and Moundridge have a wrestling team.
Lincoln does not wrestle in a league either.

Twin Lakes League--No Wrestling
Central/Burden may be in the South Central Border League but the league does not recognize it, they do not recieve any league honors for wrestling so I don't see how they are not an independent.
The schools that are listed as independents do not participate in leagues in any sports. As for wrestling they may not be in an actual league that wrestles for a championship but they are still affliated with a league when it comes to KSHSAA standards.
