119 will be interesting..
119 without a doubt will be interesting wow!Four of the top 5 kids in one regional. This has to be one of the most stacked weights throughout all classes.
Jason Murdock
Can someone explain to me the reasoning of the 5A rankings -vs- the all-class rankings? Concerning Jake Gentzler of Andover Central being ranked #4 in 5A and #1 All-Class.
How can Jones of Ark City be ranked #1 when he is #3 in All-Class?
This one floors me!! How in the world can Smith of Salina South be ranked #3 when he isn't even ranked All-Class.
I know that it will all be over in a couple of weeks. But really? Does the left hand not even know that there is a right hand?
Can someone please explain this to me?
Jason,
We have explained many times that the All-Class ranking is not maintained by the same person as the 5A ranking. It's someone else's left hand.
Thanks for the reply Chief.
Here is the next question.
If the left hand is doing the 5A rankings only then they should be able to be focused on the 5A in more detail than the right hand correct?
So, all they would have to look at is head to head and who everyone has wrestled correct?
It seems that maybe the left hand is not as focused as the right hand.
EXAMPLE:
Wrestler A beats B. B beats C. How on earth can C be ranked above A?
Jason: I don't know how you would do it but I have it about the same. For this reason, Sparr beat Gentzler, Jones beat Sparr and Jones and Gentzler haven't wrestled yet. I would probably switch Smith and Gentzler but have 1 and 2 the same.
Gentzler also has a win over Sparr this year. He won the dual and Sparr the tournament. Over the last two years they are 2-2.
Gentzler also has a win over Furches but I am not sure if the other two have met him this year.
Well then it looks like the seeding meeting could be a fun one. Guess well see how it should be in less than a week.
what is the start time for regionals?
My calendar shows 8:00. I must have got that time somewhere
First Round 9:00 a.m. 3 Mats
Semi-Finals 11:00 a.m. 2 Mats
Consolation Quarters (on one mat during the Semi's then
3 mats at conclusion of semi's)
1 hour lunch break
Round 3 Consolation semi's 1:30 p.m.
Consolation Finals 3:00 p.m. (2 Mats)
Championship Finals 4:30 p.m. (1 Mat)
i have a few predictions for this but some of it is purely off of records.
