We arrived, 54 on one flight, 8 on another, and a few found their own way!
Team Kansas has brought 34 of their finest and will put them on display for the rest of the Nation!
So far (knock on wood) things have gone quite well for the Kansas contingent! Flights, bus rides, hotel check ins, gear check outs, etc. A ton of credit for all of this has to go to the Elvin's for organizing this trip for a couple of decades.
At 6 am today the boys got a wake up call and at 7 am were at the venue for their team pictures. Then a brisk workout, expertly led by Travis Keal, till about 8:30!
Now, most are back in the rooms catching a bit of a nap (where I'll be in a few) in preparations for weigh-ins at 2 pm.
There is wrestling going on which is being covered by our other Internet Wizards! I'll get over to watch some of that action later.
At 10:30 tomorrow morning our Seniors step on the mat! Here's to hoping they have it strapped on early, for there are no warm-up matches in this tourney!!
I do have a few added duties this year but I will try (as well as others posting) to keep you all up to date on the happenings from the Beach!!
A ton of credit for all of this has to go to the Elvin's for organizing this trip for a couple of decades.
I hope the Elvins have written a manual of instructions for the person or persons who take over this job when they retire.
Randy!!! Take over from here brother. Just watched Moeder and Cokeley earn All-American status. The webcast is worth every penny. I can't hardly watch my stocks this week.
Give us some color Sheriff!
I really thought Ryne was done. Huge effort to get that TD at the buzzer!
Thanks Randy, the Elvins, Coach Ulmer, Coach Keal, and everyone else helping Team Kansas. This is an amazing event. I look forward to reading the updates.
Congrats to Moeder and Cokeley! Amazing job guys.
Wow. Lynch from Maryland pinned Timmy Box, the 2 seed at Moeders weight. Moeder has Lynch in the semis.
where do i find the webcast?
www.nchsa.comYou have to subscribe to the webcast. Once you have, you can go to:
www.nchsa.com/ppvlive and put in your e-mail address. That will get you every mat live! Also a nice chat area as well as brackets. The only issue is the somewhat choppy feed, but usually pretty good.

We're rolling on the Beach ... Antillion won!
697 from 40 States is the official number!
Jace Campbell makes a comeback to win 5-2!
Singular was defeated. 0-1.
The webcast is awesome. Anybody coming up real soon? What mat?
697 from 40 States is the official number!
Are those numbers down as a result of Flownationals?
Floyd controls throughout ... wins 7-2!
I am sure the FloNational numbers do affect the Senior National numbers!
Thanks for the updates. Tell lil brother to turn his phone on so I can get a fix off that as well.
Chase Nitcher loses by injury default ... shoulder but may be able to continue.
Derrick Weller wins by fall!
Randy, I saw Nitcher injury default. It looked like his shoulder. He was on his back giving up points when they called it. Is he OK?
I haven't seen little brother yet!!
Nitcher's shoulder "popped" twice during the match. It will no doubt be a tough road for him.
Tyler Davis escapes with 45 seconds left in the match to forge a tie. Then Tyler scores a takedown with 0.11 left to win!
Thanks to Eric for keeping me updated!!! I need the help!
There will be NO consolation matches wrestled today!!
Chief - can you give me a call at 913-621-2200. I'm without cell phone contact. Taylor has George from Idaho to get in for 3rd. (1-1-3) I think it should be up anytime. Anything you can let me know would be GREAT!!!
Randy - if you could check for me - he is match 1315 on Mat 15. Can you see what match number they are on?
697 from 40 States is the official number!
Also I know that the United Kingdom has a representative I believe in the 160 weight. A 4 time DoDDS-Europe placer. Not sure if Germany, Italy, or some of the other USA Military high schools over in Europe have representatives though.
Parker Madl is up in 2 on Mat 2!
Madl up next. Moeder up in 6.
WOW. Parker reverses him, turns and PINS him! The Kansas Beast from BV!
Royal was cradled for a loss by fall.
How did Boyer do?
And I can't seem to find updated brackets online, if these exist can someone please tell me where to look?
Moeder wins 5-3!!!
He is in for 3rd/4th!
They must not have wrestled 112s-----or not filled the results.
Hicks loses 4-8.
Caylor dominates and pins in the 3rd!
Boyer was ahead ... his foe tied it in the 3rd and then allowed the escape ... Boyer relaxes a bit on his feet, gets taken down to his back and pinned.
Rogers is up in 4 on Mat 9.
Trevor Boyer lost 1st match.
Dalton Miller wins, 10-0!
Colt Rogers on deck, Mat 9!
According to my count, our Kansas wrestlers had a team record of 12-14 in Round 1. May have overlooked a couple, but I think this is pretty close. Not a bad start at the national level, but a lot of work left to do!
Colt was down as Chief said, 5-6 to start the 3rd. After about 20 seconds he cut his opponent to give him the 2-point lead. Colt gave up the takedown and then was tilted for 3 to lose.
An update directly from Chase Nitcher ... medical is fairly certain he tore something lose in his shoulder ... he will be unable to compete further in this tourney.
A tough young man who had some tough luck.
Tyler Davis wins!
Danny Floyd wins by pin!
Jace Campbell wins 3-0!
Jason Seibel loses.
WOW! Parker Madl trailed Omar Akel from NJ, 2-1 with 30 seconds to go. Akel got called for his THIRD caution, tying the match at 2 and Parker reversed him to win 4-2!
Great match. Parker also should have won by defensive pin in the 2nd. He was flat.
Parker comes from behind to win!
Jirak suffers a loss by pin.
Charland is tied after 2 at 2-2 ... opts down in the 3rd ... escapes for 1 ... gains a takedown with 20 seconds ... allows the escape and wins, 5-3!
DENZELDEIZEL HAWKINS is Blair's next opponent according to the brackets. Now that is a name!
If I counted correctly, eight Kansas wrestlers, including 2 at 152 lbs, have made the round of 16...still battling through the front side for a shot at a National Championship!
We may have made an error but I'm told we have 7 still on the top side!!
Saturdays session from the Beach will start in about of 15 minutes. A lot of you, will be in Topeka at our State Tourney!!
Throughout the day I will also being making phone call to the Jubster for updates!!
Morgan won, 7-0!
Miller was ahead 8-4 entering the 3rd. He was victimized by the head-and-arm and lost 8-9.
Randy,
I'm in Topeka watching the start of the State Championships, and have not been able to closely follow your reports as we've been getting everything up & running. By the way, with matside entries into TrackWrestling you can now watch all the action as it occurs on TW!
The reason for my post, though ... could you give me a brief synopsis of how our kids have done to this point? I'll get the information announced for the wrestling fans here.
Morgan wins!
Floyd was ridden out in the 7th period to lose.
Jace Campbell and Tyler Davis lost.
Dillon Charland takes his first loss.
Cade Blair stays on the front side with a win!
John Hambleton wins!!
A lot of times, those of you that have the feed, can post results quicker than I can!!! I appreciate all the help!
Parker coming up on mat 5!
In Blair's match, they were tied entering the 3rd frame. Cade opts bottom and gains a reversal!!
Yes ... Madl wins to stay on the front side!
Also, Kyle Caylor rolls over another to keep his quest going!!
Randy, Is it Blair, Madl and Caylor on the front side?
Yes, I think that is correct!
Singular just suffered his 2nd loss.
Sorry about the lapse in coverage. Our web hosting server went down this morning; I called them and they were aware of the problem and were working to get it fixed. It came on a very bad day, and took longer than I would have liked, but it seems that we are finally back up & running!
Randy has been keeping me updated. Until he gets back on, here is a synopsis. We have one guaranteed All-American in Parker Madl. Cade Blair, Trey Page & Kyle Caylor are still in the hunt. All four are wrestling in the consolation bracket.
Colt Rogers came a close 0-1 loss shy of becoming an AA. Cade Blair just won his match, guaranteeing him AA status.
We have four All-Americans, as both Kyle Caylor & Trey Page won their matches. Cade Blair, Kyle & Trey need two more wins to compete for third, Parker Madl is one win away from the third place match.
What are the state team scores looking like?
(is it safe to come in) ... after spending a couple of hours trying to diagnose the "problem" from the Beach ... I found out that the server was down!
Yes, we have four of our Kansas Seniors that will be All-Americans! The Four Horsemen will take the stage at 9 am and jockey for their placement!
It looked like (from what I could gather from the goofy NCHS website 'brackets') Blair lost to an OK four time state champ by a score of 9-8. If that is correct info, I bet that was an exciting match.

It is great to see our state in the top 10, hats off to all the wrestlers that represented our little piece of heaven. Kansas wrestlers are a special breed.
This mornings final day at the Beach is underway. Placement matches happening!
Blair wins!
Caylor and Page lost and will be wrestling for 7th!
Blair will be wrestling for 5th after a loss.
Parker will be wrestling for 3rd after a win!
Blair loses 1-2 and Madl won
Iowa's Evan Knight at 189 gets the award for Right Place At the Right time: 3 consecutive injury defaults...he received them in the conso quarters, and in the 2 previous rounds. Thus having wrestled 1 true match on the backside after losing in the 3rd round on the front...he was well rested for the conso semis, which he just won.
Who is winning the Ironman award for early loss and claiming the most conso wins for the nation?
Cade Blair places 6th at the NHSCA Senior Nationals ... Congratulations Cade!!
Parker loses 1-4 and finishes 4th ... Parker Madl is an All-American!!
Trey Page finishes 7th and is an All-American!
Kyle Caylor tried to wrestle with an elbow injury but couldn't ... he finishes in 8th and is an All-American!!
Trey Page went 6-1 on Saturday and Sunday to take 7th after losing in the first round to a guy from N.J. who is in the finals.
I think madl is going to ou but can anyone speak were the rest of the seniors are going to college next year really interested in caylor and page and blair
Caylor - North Dakota State
Caylor - North Dakota State
Caylor has verbally committed to South Dakota State University. They are going to need him as I think they only scored 1 pt in the NCAA championships.
Sorry to hear about your injury Kyle. Get better! Your High School Career was awesome!
Trey has signed with Butler JoCo to play football.
