Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Head wrestling coach, Mike Duroe
has established a wrestling program that is the envy of followers
of collegiate wrestling. In addition to serving as the head coach
at Cornell, Coach Duroe has also served on the coaching staff for
teams representing the USA in the Olympics, Pan American Games
and US World Teams. Coach Duroe began his coaching career at the
interscholastic level at New Trier High School , Winnetka, Illinois. In
addition to serving as the Head Coach at Cornell, he was the head
assistant coach for the University of Pennsylvania and the Head Coach
at Northern Michigan University. Coach Duroe wrestled interscholastically
for Charles City High School in Iowa.
JEFF GILES – MINNEAPOLIS HS
Minneapolis HS head wrestling coach Jeff Giles’s session will be on
“Promoting your program and developing a wrestling system for
experienced and inexperienced wrestlers”. Jeff had a career dual
record of 235-18-1. Upon his graduation from Maysville HS (Missouri),
Coach Giles attended Missouri State University where he was
a three year starter on the MSU team. He has also been actively
involved, both competitively and as a coach, in power lifting. He
has been selected as the KWCA Coach of the Year for 2001-2002
and the KWOA Coach of the Year. During his career Coach Giles’s
teams have won 7 league team championships, produced 9 state
champions, 39 state place winners and 101 state qualifiers.

BRAD HILDEBRANDT – SKUTT
CATHOLIC HS, OMAHA, NE
Joining us this year at the Kansas Coaching School is the highly
accomplished Omaha, Nebraska coaching legend Brad Hildebrandt.
Coach Hildebrandt has been the head coach at Skutt Catholic HS
since 1993. During that career his career win-loss record is 131-
17. His 2010 team won their 13th consecutive Class B state team
title. He has twice been selected Nebraska “Coach of the Year”,
has been selected to the University of Nebraska-Omaha Athletic
Hall of Fame, and was selected by USA Wrestling Magazine in
2009 as their “National Coach of the Year”. Coach Hildebrandt’s
sessions will be on the single leg “set-up to finish” and on either
the “short offense” or “building a program”.
