Troy Hodges Update - 03/10/11 08:14 PM
I have received many calls about Troy's condition. As many of you know he has been in intensive care at KU med for about two weeks now. He has battled Lukemia for many years and if you are familiar with that, you know that it undermines your immune system and makes a person vulnerable to many infections and illnesses. Troy has been fighting many of those things this past few weeks. He has battled, as he always has and, though he is gravely ill, he is holding his own. I went up and saw him today and he was lucid and conversive and wanted to know all about the Metro Classic. He was sharp and seemed to be very alert. That was very encouraging. He is still in very very critical condition but he is holding his own and looks better today than he did when I saw him over the weekend. Cathy is very appreciative of the support and the contacts she has had from so many people. He wanted me to thank everyone for their efforts in the metro. It means a lot to him and they let him watch it on the internet in his room. He was really thrilled with that. I am sorry that I can't explain it better than that, it is very complicated and I don't understand it all but know he is better today than he was three days ago. Keep a good thought for him. Every little bit helps.
