Kansas Wrestling

At the Western Kansas TOC this past weekend Ellis sold T-shirts with the name of EVERY state wrestling champion from the schools participating. It was quite an impressive undertaking and finished project when you think of the long history and deep tradition of the schools who were participating. Heck, Norton alone submitted 93 names to be placed on the shirt.

The link below will take you to a picture of the t-shirt. I did not/have not tried to count them all; my old eyes are too bad and besides it is more than my fingers and toes will allow. . .

BTW, Ellis High School did an outstanding job of running the tournament.

That is very cool!!!
Great idea!
That is an awesome idea. When my son wrestled at Effingham when he was nine or ten, I remember seeing a plaque and telling him about the wrestler who was a two time runner up that beat me at State in high school. It was a small history lesson but one that I was glad to share with him.

I really wish someone could help put together a database with EVERY past KSHSAA state placer so it could be accessed from this web site. It would make something like this easy to do. Great job Ellis!
That is also a great idea. Would be helpful in many ways....as resource when coaches want to honor past wrestlers from their schools at events, on shirts, for wall boards in their rooms, etc.

Also, for fans and former wrestlers to access info.

Would take a lot of time to do, but would be great resource.
KSHSAA Should have the data.
Does anyone a comprehensive source of data?
