Kansas Wrestling
Posted By: RankWrestlers An open challenge to Beeson - 01/22/17 06:37 PM
Based on the comments you have made to some of our threads, you obviously have a great grasp of Kansas high school wrestling.

Let's have a little fun with this! The SEK Invitational is coming up this weekend, with 16 Kansas teams, including your son's team. You have seen a few of these over the years.

How about by Friday night, each of us post our picks for the top 4 placers at each weight class? The one with the most correct picks wins (pick must finish in correct place: 1, 2, 3, 4).

If you win, we will not make any more posts on this forum this season. If we win, you will not make any more negative responses to any of our posts.

What do you say? Game on?

Game On
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/22/17 07:06 PM
I suggest we both send our completed picks to Mike Juby and he can in turn post them to the forums for us.
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/22/17 07:25 PM
Great idea. Let's do that and he can post the picks in this thread as soon as both sets are turned in.

I might have to start paying more attention to the forums again! This is starting to seem fun like when we was younger

I do miss the old days.

Me too! Pre-pussification of America

I like this!!
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/23/17 10:37 PM
I am at a slight disadvantage, as any close match I will definitely have to take my dogs. With that being said, some real research will have to be done on their part, instead of just having the computer spit out predictions. I'd like to see Chiefs predictions posted as well after the original have been submitted. Just for Fun!

Any idea when the brackets will be available?

Saturday at 9:01AM.

This is really cool! I'm interested to see the results, good luck.
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/24/17 03:27 PM
I'll have them tonight.
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/24/17 04:12 PM
Perfect - if you email them to me at admin@rankwrestlers.com, I will submit our predictions tomorrow.

My money is on Chad!!!

Were you able to obtain the brackets last night? I am looking forward to submitting predictions.

I don't think they bracket the tournament until after weigh in. Trackwrestling does this to eliminate byes
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/25/17 02:56 PM
I have entries....no brackets.
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/25/17 03:51 PM
Okay - Since neither of us knows what side of the bracket the kids will be on, it will be nearly impossible to pick the top 4 in order (top 2 could be on same side of bracket).

Maybe we can seed each of the kids in the tournament by weight? When we have the results, we will count a point each time our higher seed wins a match. Whoever has the highest number of points for the full tournament wins.

If that is too much work for you, we could pick a few weight classes (you pick how many and which ones), rather than the entire tournament.

Alternatively, we could just email our top 4 In order Saturday morning as soon as the brackets are posted but before the tournament begins. Either way works for me, or I am open to your ideas.

What do you think?

One & four seed on top ...two & three seed on bottom
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/25/17 10:41 PM
I've already seeded my own Brackets and drawn out the brackets like I think they will work out. I like the original deal, submit by Friday night. wink
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/25/17 11:17 PM
That's fine. Can you email me the participant list?
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/25/17 11:22 PM
I got on Track. Went to each team going and then pulled out the participants I thought would go at each weight. I then seeded each bracket and drew it out. I've given you more information than I probably should. This was your challenge, correct?
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/26/17 03:10 PM
As long as we both are using the same info, I am fine. Almost done with our predictions. How do I reach Mike Juby to send to him?
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/26/17 04:34 PM
I found Mike Juby's email and sent my predictions to him. I think you said you already sent yours as well, so hopefully they will be posted to this thread soon.
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/26/17 10:36 PM
Sorry, I'm going to wait until tomorrow for my predictions. Just found out one of top ranked kids has a concussion, and two other highly ranked kids have the flu.
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/26/17 10:43 PM
Well - I guess you have the inside scoop. Care to share the info to level the playing field?
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/27/17 12:28 AM
Not a chance.;)
Posted By: Spexy Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/27/17 01:33 AM
Can"t wait for predictions. Should be interesting.
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/28/17 12:18 AM
Are you going to send your predictions to Mike Juby? It is Friday night.
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/28/17 12:28 AM
I am going to post mine right now. Mike is busy with his team and will not be able to post them. I will post mine and then you can post yours. Mike will be able to verify that the rankings are the same, if need be.

After seeing that the KC Star posted the rankings from the rankwrestlers site instead of the official KWCA, I have to say it was an astounding lack of information. I'm sure the site means well but an effort to obtain all criteria is lacking to say the least.
Posted By: Beeson Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/28/17 01:38 AM
Well, after looking at the KC Star rankings, I must comment as well. It's ridiculous, you guys totally disregarded head to head match ups. I don't know what kind of sales pitch you used to get the paper to buy into your rankings but it was good. Those thinking of purchasing a membership to this website, check out the KC Star. It's a poor product.

Remember - no more negative posts after today if we win tomorrow. Good luck!
Posted By: RankWrestlers Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/29/17 01:43 AM
I think you won. Well done! Enjoy the rest of the season.
Posted By: PatrickCavanaugh Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/29/17 02:08 AM
I am requesting a recount. I was really looking forward to Chad being defenseless on this forum.
Posted By: Chase Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/29/17 04:54 PM
Hahaha
Posted By: BigBlue6 Re: An open challenge to Beeson - 01/30/17 08:36 PM
Now you should hire someone to fix your broken rankings system that you charge money for people to use....or maybe drop the price to $0.25/year instead of $25.00
