Just curious on the viewers opinion on the best wrestler in the state. They are a bunch of studs out there. In no particular order and im sure i forgot a bunch of good ones
Lautt
Cokeley
Frame
Porsch
Spangler
Hutchinson
Mintzmeyer
Wallace
Ball
In my opinion, it is Clay Lautt from SJA!
I know Koelzer lost in the semi's but I would still consider him in the top 10 or so.
Clay Lautt. Dominated everyone in the state of Kansas that he wrestled. Lots of very talented wrestlers, but none this year as dominant as Clay.
I never saw Lautt wrestle this year but i have seen the results. I saw Spangler wrestle. He is legit!!!!!
Spangler. Often wrestled up 1 or 2 weight classes
Everyone listed are well deserving of this label, but I would say Mintzmeyer from what I seen.
Butler and Mintzmeyer will be an awesome matchup for the Kids State high school dual. I hope someone can make that happen.
Clay dominated. I think he could have won 195 and 220 as well. No offense meant to any of those outstanding state champs in those classes. I just think Clay is the best this year. He dominated!!
Hard to argue Clay Lautt
3X State Champ
KC Stampede Champ
Cadet Greco World Team Member (making quarter finals)
UWW Cadet Greco National Champion
UWW Cadet Freestyle All American-5th
Junior Greco All American-5th
Cadet Greco All American-3rd
Cadet Freestyle All American-4th
Yes, schedule does matter, and not too many had a summer quite like Clay.
Cale Davidson would be willing to wrestle Clay at the senior duals if that could be arranged.
It would be very disappointing if the #1 wrestlers in 195 and 220 did not get a chance to defend their weight class. If the general consensus is Clay is the #1 pound for pound then there should be no problem matching him up with one of these #1 wrestlers from 195 or 220.

There is no doubt Cale is a great wrestler. This post is about "Pound For Pound". In his weight class Clay is the most dominant wrestler in Kansas.
I am in no way trying to nominate Cale for the pound for pound title. I am responding to the claim in this post that Clay could win the 195 and 220 bracket. If that is really believed then I think Clay should get a chance to prove it. Maybe he is the best at these weights and maybe he is not, lets wrestle the match and find out.
My Top 10 (somewhat in order)
Clay Lautt
Sammy Cokeley
Kayne Hutchinson
Frame x2
Michael Spangler
Mason Wallace
Cale Davidson
Jacob Mintzmeyer
Corbin Nirschl
Dayton Porsch
Im sure there is someone that could be on here that i forgot.

I usually scroll right on past any posts by Will. As I did this time. Sorry I was confused.
I have much respect for clay and am not trying to take anything away from him. I along with everybody else in the state of Kansas believe he is a great wrestler. I think he has great things to look forward to at the college level and truly believe he will be as successful in college as he was in high school. My response is not about bashing or diminishing anybody’s ability or talent. When the comment was made to suggest one wrestler is better than another wrestler was when I decided to make the responses I made. I also don’t want to start any ill feelings, I know Cale considers Clay a friend. I am more of a talk forum stalker than a poster so after I say what I have to say I will shut up and go back to stalking the forums but I still think it would be a good match and one that I would pay money to watch.
