Who will set the pace in 4A in 05-06?
Defending State Champs Clay Center are losing a lot of firepower, Abilene is losing 2 state finalists but bring back Rein. They may or may not have their heavyweight Palmer back and they should have Tischauser making his high school debut after missing freshman year injured. I think just off what I can remember that Andale will be the team to beat next year with Goodland/Colby making a chase as well.
I definitely expect Andale to be at the top.
I believe Andale will be the front runner, they put on a good show this year with a VERY young team, I think they have a good shot at winning the title next year. Goodland returns the most State Qualifiers from last year, but you cannot go entirely by that but it's an indication. It could go either way depending on if Andale gets thrown into the western regional again and shapes the State brackets out. You draw your own conclusion.
Andale will return: Fisher (112), Fisher (119), Thoman (125), Eck (140), Schroeder (145)
Goodland will return: Bahe (112), Mason (119), Stephens (125), Schields (140), Cook (160), Goodley (171), Starr (215), Doxon (275)
Colby will return: Luedke (112), Olsen (119), Withington (135), Garcia (140), Finley (145)
clay center has gile (103), kolterman (135), lund (140), allen (152), rush (160), and marrs (189) coming back, with 4 of them being placers. 1 4th place medalist, 1 3rd place medalist, and 2 2nd place medalists.
Clay Center, Goodland, Andale, & Colby
ANDALE JUST LOOKS REALLY STRONG. ABELINE AND CLAY WILL HAVE STRONG TEAMS BUT WILL BE BUILDING, AND I THINK THE SAME CAN BE SAID FOR COLUMBUS AND SANTA FE TRAIL. WHEN YOU THINK OF HOW MANY GOOD YOUNG GUYS ANDALE HAD LAST YEAR ITS JUST HARD TO SEE ANYONE TAKING THEM DOWN. EVEN IF THEY GET SENT WEST, IT REALLY WON'T MATTER BECAUSE I THINK THEY ARE JUST BETTER. WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE WEST GUYS AND TRY TO PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER, YOU HAVE BAHE,COOK AND STARR AT GOODLAND, GARCIA, OLSEN AND LUEDKE AT COLBY,
mILLER, THE DRIELINGS, MAYBE KOUGH OR ROSIN AT SCOTT CITY?--- i DON'T KNOW THE LINEUPS OF SOME OF THE EASTERN TEAMS, BUT YOU PUT THE TOP 3 OR 4 TOGETHER, EVEN AT ABELINE OR CLAY, AND THEN COMPARE IT TO THE 4 OR 5 STUDS THAT WERE AT ANDALE, AND THE DEPTH OF THAT TEAM MAKES THEM PRETTY HARD TO BEAT BASED ON EXISTING RECORDS. IF ANYONE BEATS ANDALE, THEY ARE GONNA HAVE TO GET A LOT BETTER THIS SUMMER. iT WOULD REALLY BE NEAT TO SEE THEM DUAL NORTON OR DERBY NEXT SEASON!
People might think I'm crazy, but I think Rose Hill will have a good year next year. 4 returning state qualifiers 1 state placer, and one who qualified in 04. The put in alot of wrestling and weights over the summer, and will be pretty tough in the middle and lower weights.

Not trying to knock you in anyway, but seriously. That's like saying Russell will win it all for the next 2 years because they return 4 SQ's. It takes placers to be considered a front runner and 5 or 6 at that with a champion basically. Scott City the exception I know. Goodland I think now will be almost too much of a wild horse to tame, they return a lot of state points and I think with another year of experience under the belts of some those guys, they will be too hot to handle. I still think Andale will show off their stuff too, but Goodland is the pick now.
Alex you back? Or you managing to find a computer in the fields?
maybe he made one out of combine parts and chewing gum, Macgyver style.
No I am back for a couple days since it rained in Ellinwood and we cannot cut wheat my boss let me come home for a couple days. So I am here for a little while at least.
I'm gonna have to go with Andale for next year. They'll have bright spots all over the team, and a lot of young talent as well.
I'm gonna have to go with Buhler or possibly even Medora. Buhler is returned at least 2 state qualifiers and 0 state placers. Of all the qualifiers, only two of them are determined to take state next year.
Medora on the other hand....those fools train alllll year long, they don't take breaks and they don't slack off. I'd look to see them as a powerhouse in the near future.
Well. Clearwater is returning a whole 0 points from state, and we're also returning that many qualifiers. So I'd say we're in the mix too.
All I'm sayin, is expect top 10. They could pull an Andale, and be a big suprise this next year.

Maybe I don't totally know what is going on (like most of the time), but I think Chapman could finish higher than Rose Hill.
